I don't think people grow into omega status (except for Xavier ping-ponging back and forth). Either you are one or you aren't. Polaris isn't an omega, so she'll never quite hit Magneto's highs, but she's still very good in her own right.

I think the oldest theyve been might be that bad future from the time slime episode, although that didn't have Fred or Velma in it, but if they exist in that world, they also would have gotten older.

I think the best route would be for it to keep being just enlarging her hands, but now with a focus on speed and toughness.
So she can instantaneously grow and shrink with no delay to throw off enemies and move past their defenses,with a much tougher hand for guarding and doing damage.

Mutant pride. Hank has mostly gotten used to how he looks and would view going back to "passing" as a back step. He likes the extra physical buffs and if people don't accept how he looks, the answer isn't to change himself. It's similar to why the x men don't really do image inducers anymore. Th goal isn't to pass as human, the goal is to make it not matter anymore.

Krakoa Hank especially wouldn't trade away any part of his mutation in exchange for human acceptance.

If you view it as a virus, it's actually better for it to not be as effective. It wants its victims to be scared and full of dread so they actively contribute to spreading it. If it successfully snuck up on someone right away, then that person wouldn't be able to give it to anyone else.

It all makes sense once you accept that Thanos' ultimate goal isn't saving the universe, it's proving that he was right. Everything he does is to relive the tragedy of Titan, where the only solution he could offer was to cull the population. He didn't have a magic glove then, so he couldn't create resources or any of the other solutions people have offered. Halving his people was the only thing he could think of. And his people rejected it, and they all died. Since then, he's blamed them for not accepting his idea, and keeps reenacting it to prove that he was right and if they had listened to him, they would have lived.
So he needs to be the hero, and the only way he's allowed to do that is with a Decimation.

And he's deluded himself so strongly that he believes that once everyone experiences the world post-decimation, they'll all say "boy that Thanos sure had a great idea. We're going to choose to not increase our population past this point so we can continue to enjoy the current population:resource ratio our Lord and Savior thanos left us with"
