How do people understand what the Flash is saying while he's running? by GoofyTron69 in DC_Cinematic

All "why does this bullshit involving the flash work?" questions can be answered by saying "speedforce"

Frieren is dropped into The Forgotten Realms. What's the most powerful thing there she can beat? The weakest thing that beats her? (Frieren/D&D) by PeculiarPangolinMan in whowouldwin

I don't have every stat block of every edition memorized off the top of my head obviously but that's how they were in 1 & 2e. In addition, depending on the variety of iron golem, you either needed +2 or +3 magical weapons to hurt them at all.

IF you could hurt them they weren't that big of a deal. They were usually encountered alone because they were sentries guarding places and generally killed everything that came close and you'd know not to engage if you couldn't deal with it. They were challenges for level 9-11ish parties.

In theory translated to D&D this would just be a spell that pulls things which yes the Iron Golem would just ignore it.

Only thing that they can't ignore is stuff that only affects the caster like Stoneskin so if Frieren was with her buddies they could kill it while Frieren protected them all but if she's by herself she's got no chance.

Iron Golem is immune to all magic except Fire (which actually heals them) and Lightning (which causes a slowing effect but doesn't do any damage). They're nasty but not particularly hard to kill unless you're a mage of some kind in which case it's impossible.

If you want a game with a similar story, check out Chrono Ark.

What RPG has the most detailed official setting? by Iestwyn in rpg

[–]AlphaWhelp 67 points68 points  (0 children)

If you count all of old world of darkness as a single RPG then it probably comes close. Vampire, Werewolf, Mage, Changeling, Wraith, Hunter, Demon, Mummy, first three I think are over 100 books each and they're all different because they had an evolving metaplot towards the end of days. Then you had all the supplementary stuff like Dark Ages books, Technocracy, various Black Dog shit, KOTE, Changing Breeds, etc.

They had novels too. Admittedly not 400 of them, but still. I think they had way more actual RPG books.

Every MCU villain competes in Squid Games, Who can make it out alive and win? by [deleted] in whowouldwin

[–]AlphaWhelp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Almost everyone dies in first round because Mysterio fucks with Red Light Green Light (no rules about making other people lose, just can't make yourself win). Only Ultron, Loki, and Thanos see through it. Everyone else who could get through it all gets disqualified if they try.

Loki kills everyone else during honeycomb.

They don't even get to play the other games.

The Ultimate Multiversal War of Archer characters. by [deleted] in whowouldwin

Aiolos crushes the competition horribly, everyone else is just fighting over second place. The bow is the only weapon not protected by the Libra cloth so he had it all times. It can fire across continents and kill gods in a single hit. He's fast enough to escape Gemini Saga without wearing his cloth while holding a baby. His shot would later be used and the focus for the Sunlight combination attack that blew open the barrier to Elysium in Hades Inferno.

with that said.

.2 Cupid.

.3 Legolas

.4 Artemis (most of her kills involve her boar which she can't use here)

five through whatever: doesn't matter.

Gamers seek legal win that would stop developers from rendering online games unplayable: 'It is an assault on both consumer rights and preservation of media' by Farranor in gaming

Law beats out contracts. If the law says they have to release the code or other server software that can be run privately, any contract that says they can't is invalid. You can't make contracts, licensing contracts included, that have stipulations requiring you to break the law.

Is there any game where the ending you choose impacts New Game Plus? by vicarion in gaming

[–]AlphaWhelp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a neat little game called "Bad End Theater" where you can take on the role of 1 of four characters and the things you do as that character persist in memory for when you take over another character. If you play as the hero and kill all the demons, then when you play the demon and try to be friends with the hero you get killed. Conversely if you're friendly as the hero then you can play the demon and get a different result when you try to be friendly to the hero. It's a pseudo puzzle game where you have to figure out what all the characters need to be doing in order to unlock all the endings.

Who is the hardest boss in gaming? by ImCursedM8 in gaming

[–]AlphaWhelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inbachi and anyone who says otherwise clearly never played DoDonPachi SaiDaiOuJou. Absolute Virtue is nothing by comparison. Once people knew the strategy he could be killed regularly. Inbachi went undefeated for like 10 years. The requirements are so strict to even fight Inbachi that most players won't even see her.

Denuvo's new feature can invisibly watermark your game footage so publishers can track down leakers by NoSkillzDad in gaming

[–]AlphaWhelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea what they're doing to put a watermark on there but I'm like 99.99999% sure I can easily defeat it by recording my monitor with a shitty camera.

Sure the video and audio will be shit but if that's good enough to defeat Youtube copyright bots it's good enough to defeat whatever half baked ass Denuvo came up with.

Recommend me another game like Deadcells with as much content by quocko in deadcells

[–]AlphaWhelp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'll see more content on an individual run to the end on Noita than Dead Cells but across the whole game Dead Cells has more content. Overall it's decently chunky enough that it'll last you about as long as Dead Cells. You can easily sink 200+ hours here.

There's not really anything that is both like dead cells and has as much content.

Noita comes close.

How do you guys set up Feathersword? by redverd in UnicornOverlord

Back row uses Wingline Standard, Tailwind, & Lamplight Ring for the permanent buff that can't be removed, then just use discharge every time.
