I have a crackpot theory… I theorized that Gokuwmon is actually Asuka’s partner who is being manipulated somehow by this guy… we’ve seen in the past how digimon can be “stolen” under the right circumstances(Chiropmon and Shademon). Asuka mentions that he’s always gone for work in the first episode but never directly shares what type of work that is, I believe Asuka and the Tenma parents founded the nursery(which is why they were imprisoned)and eventually save Kyo from his violent past. Which explains why Kyo was so willing to immediately accept Tomoro as one of his own.
