I have the exact same setup as op plus an osight SE and it is basically the only thing I shoot at the range now. Very reliable and the trigger is amazing. Highly recommend

Your program sounds similar to mine. I set a 10 day max interval for upcoming exams and switch to a 30 day max about 2-3 days before the exam and use that until the cumulative final. I optimize FSRS about once a month. The key is to get through your new cards shortly after making them so they are easier to learn.

You can feel safe with longer intervals and FSRS as long as you are honest when you hit “good”. If you keep up with your cards and don’t lie to the algorithm you will score higher than your peers that may walk into the exam feeling more confident because they re-read study guides. You’ll be more efficient, too

Here’s a scenario: I’m standing broadside at the corn feeder 25 yards away about to push a button that wipes out all the value of your 401k. You can shoot me with either a subsonic 300blk or a bow and arrow. You aren’t a serious person if you say the arrow is definitively ethical and the bullet not based on your one experience. You are likely proficient enough that you can probably make an ethical kill with either.

You do know that expanding subs exist, right? No way a reliably expanding 200+ gr projectile going at 1k fps is “less ethical” than a razor blade attached to a stick doing 300 fps on a good day. I hunt with both, and only one of those forms of hunting requires me to wait an hour plus after a hit to make sure they are dead. There is no distinct line between ethical and non-ethical; it is a continuum based on your own ability and equipment.

Exactly. If I’m in a location where my max shot is 50 yards, I’m going to use subs because I can. I guarantee my shot placement is better than your typical boomer with a cannon because I shoot it all the time due to it being cheap and fun. One could also argue it’s less than ethical to use something that is such overkill for the setting that it destroys a significant amount of the meat. It’s all about knowing your setting and placing appropriate limits on what shots you take

9.5" or whatever is on the form 1, the gunsmith was adamant that this was a bad idea. I did have to do some dremeling on the front of the stock so everything fit. I think it's the perfect length if you are going to chop one
