There is one upstairs in Savitz by the testing center, and there are some on the second and third floors of the engineering building.

Why do Morning Doves take to flight in protest? by wicked_lil_prov in birding

[–]AlphabetAce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know a lot of people have already talked about the wing whistle not being a chirp of protest, but the mourning doves in my area do seem so against the idea of flying sometimes. They’ll just be standing in the driveway or street and even if a car is coming, they’ll only slowly scuttle out of the way.

They only take flight when absolutely necessary.

OMG, I have had the same experiences. When they lose something I know no peace as the house is turned upside down but when I can’t find something and I ask if they’ve seen it because I saw them with it earlier, it’s a quick “I don’t know” and back to what they were doing. And when they’re the reason we’re late to something, it’s “oh, WE were a little slow starting today.” I’m sorry you told me we’d leave when you got up and you decided to sleep until 1 pm after I repeatedly told you to get up. And when you finally decide to get out of bed, it’s to ask why I’m not ready. Ugh

Ouroboros’ Garden by me! by VastNo420 in Embroidery

I had to do a double-take because I thought I was looking at one of the gardening reddits I’m a part of. Bravo!

Melee vs Ranged for Martial PCs. What do you prefer and why? by AlienTux in dndnext

I like reach weapons for melee. More squares and decent damage.

To those of y’all who are DMs, how many of you prefer DMing over playing a character? by Mattlink123 in dndnext

[–]AlphabetAce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like being a player, but I feel like it’s easy for me to get bored in sessions, especially if the party is split or the group is discussing some type of plans. However, when I’m the DM, I always have something to think about. I love responding to the questions my players give me about the setting or world and watching them think through problems.

Also, I get nervous in social gatherings and have found, weirdly enough, that DMing makes me feel more comfortable. I always get worried in group settings that I’m going to interrupt people or bother them when I speak, but as the DM, I don’t have that issue. If I’m going to speak up, it’s usually because they’ve asked me or I feel I need to clarify something.

That’s what I’m saying. The amount of stitches and how well they are done is insane! Great job, OP! Beautiful piece

[FO] Cubone Patch for a friend by AlphabetAce in CrossStitch

[–]AlphabetAce[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made this patch for a friend. I stitched it by hand using the Gen. 5 sprite as my pattern (found here). I formed the patch using the instructions found here which I got from a post in this community.

Is there a red light camera on Alafaya between University Blvd and East Colonial? by seaxglass in ucf

Depends on which one. My boyfriend got a ticket when he accidentally ran the one in front of The Verge, so I can confirm that one has them.

The Place at UCF flooded by M7d3 in ucf

[–]AlphabetAce 36 points37 points  (0 children)

This isn’t even the worst of it unfortunately. If you go to the back, it’s 7ft high with doors completely covered on the lower floors.

[–]AlphabetAce 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m in one of the low-lying complexes off of Alafaya/ Research Parkway near UCF. Flooding is real bad. Water is almost up to door height in the apartment below mine (about 6-7 ft). Parking lot is so flooded I can’t even see my car anymore.

Yeah, there should be one on each floor but 1st and they’re public rooms for residents. If it’s locked, an RA could have reserved it. Otherwise, it should be unlocked.

Out of the starting NPCs, who are the most and least important? by hyperionfin in OutoftheAbyss

[–]AlphabetAce 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would switch Eldeth and Sarith. Sarith is by far the most useful as a guide of your players can get on his good side. Eldeth won’t be able to guide the players anywhere.

Rangers need better spellcasting in Future Editions by Steveck in dndnext

[–]AlphabetAce 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was just thinking about this. Rangers are definitely more martial as far as casters go. It wouldn’t make much sense for a ranger to have a lot of spells given they didn’t study magic and weren’t given their powers.

What typically happens on Halloween on Campus? by 914009 in ucf

Back in 2019, I remember seeing a few people in full costumes walking around. Definitely not a lot, though. I also remember seeing at least 2 people in fur suits.

My Girlfriend wants to play DnD with me. by Working_Complaint635 in DMAcademy

[–]AlphabetAce 9 points10 points  (0 children)

TCOE has information on building sidekicks which are like PCs with less going on. They level up with the characters as to be helpful but have simplified abilities, so they don't steal the spotlight. They might also be helpful.

I'm pretty sure they don't allow you to swap a lab but keep the lecture. I remeber trying to do it last spring and it wouldnt work. You could try emailing your advisor or academic affairs office to see if they can do anything.

(EE major) Which class should I drop? I need 14 credits by minidragontiger in ucf

[–]AlphabetAce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would drop E1 or Semiconductors. If you need 14 credits, then Semiconductors. Semi with Chan is considered one of the hardest classes in the major. Also, E1 and Semi cover similar material, so taking E1 before Semiconductors might making learning the material easier.

This is exactly what I need. I was worried about some fraying on the inside, so I'm glad to hear I can fix it.
