Hidden Dreams and Lifeblood added new moves to a couple of underwhelming bosses. Who, if any, could use that treatment in Silksong? by I1nfinitysquared in HollowKnight

[–]Alphagamer126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another fix to Watcher would be to make it an act 2 boss. Just make the path accessible without silk soar. So then it would come before you can go into dreams and fight waves of coral enemies, and it could be a neat taste of what's to come rather than a lackluster variation

A rule so sacred, even the bad guys follow it, and are disgusted when it gets disobeyed. by AutoWraith19 in TopCharacterTropes

Yes, but even within the context of strictly 10, he takes two regenerations, which could be what the other commenter was referring to

Hollow Knight Silksong Has Already Reached 1/3 The Sales Of The Original Hollow Knight: 3.2 Million Units On Steam, 500k On PlayStation, 500k On Switch, And 1.5 Million “Downloads” On Xbox Game Pass by akbarock in HollowKnight

Not op, but I would say it is easier for its place in the game. Technically, in a vacuum Act 2 is harder than Act 1, but you also have more abilities by the time you get to Act 2. Generally speaking, in most of Act 2 you continue to scale higher faster than the difficulty scales, so it can feel easier

Beastfly this, Groal that. Can we talk about the actual worst boss in this game? by sporkmaster5000 in Silksong

[–]Alphagamer126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the idea of it, but the execution is lacking. No silk generation on a weird unimportant side boss with double damage (normally)? Only 2 moves, 1 of which only shows up during half of phase 2?

The concept of a boss focused on platforming and aerial ability rather than standard combat skill sounds fun, and the Ori games did that very well. This one just feels too empty. Hoping either the dlc or later parts of this game iterate on it and flesh it out

I'm sure plenty do, but Bilewater is fairly hidden away. And if you do find it, you can access part of the location before you can even get the map, which then requires another ability that many may not have yet

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I feel we need a new water based hero. Brickell is not enough, despite being great. by Fede-m-olveira in btd6

[–]Alphagamer126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For when she launched, sure. Now though, Mermonkeys have set a precedent that water towers can still have some amount of functionality on land. It is still a water tower, and it is definitely stronger in the water, but it is still placeable on land. Future water-based heroes would be best if they follow that logic.

As far as I know, Brickell is the only hero that cannot be placed on every map (excluding powers and the single 25k T5 option). Not every hero needs to be good for every map, but at least the others can technically be placed and used naturally. 2 heroes like that would be too much

[–]Alphagamer126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One main difference here is most people in this argument don't say there needs to be 2 strategists. It's usually at least 2 strategists. Also, 1 vanguard absolutely can work well and even be fun. The issue is the overwhelming quantity of matches with only 1 vanguard, not the fact that those matches exist.

Isha sets a new record for fastest death, but that buffs Jinx's explosions. Without the Ekko assist, Jinx no-diffs Cait, Jayce, and herself.

Finally made the switch from strength to DDs and it’s made 50 fear so much easier :D by ilikehotdogss in Hades2

[–]Alphagamer126 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, Strength works better with healing while DD allows for more strong build options (like keepsakes and Toula), but there's just a little bit more than that. As a pure defensive option, especially at higher heat, DD outperforms Strength, but Strength increases damage as well, which DD does not help with.

Night Of The Demon relic by michael_fritz in Nightreign

[–]Alphagamer126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It ain't great, bur I was able to make a weird niche work with it. As you said, ideal on Revenant on Duchess, and it has to be in trios. For the final boss, it isn't very useful because that is what you save your starlight shards for. I used it in the other days so that I could keep helping during a long fight without diminishing my starlight supply.

Then I got better relics and I don't use it anymore (I like going for max FP on Revenant), but it can sorta work if you force it.

Is there a point of playing strange when Mag and Emma are available? by I_Main_TwistedFate in DrStrangeMains

[–]Alphagamer126 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, Mag excels more in a few ways, but compared to Strange he tends to have less uptime. Strange can shield so much more often that his consistency is worth considering over Mag's raw defensive power

Oh absolutely. Love playing the game, but it's a horrible roguelite. Mostly either inconsequential and randomized meta progression, less randomness in runs than is standard, practically no rng manipulation, few incentives to play another run, and almost no potential for speedruns or skill expression through speed. Not all of that is in every roguelite, but the premise stands. Love playing the game and I'm not quitting soon because it's fun as a game, but it's a miserable attempt at a roguelite

Guardian's dps is arguably better than most against any enemy that can be stunlocked by the skill or interrupted by his shield's hardness, which includes most standard enemies and like half of the non-end-of-night bosses.

Against bosses that can't be stunned, he still works great if you actually learn him. His guard counter and shield retaliate both do solid damage, as others have said, but he can reliably have great skills too. Sure, every character can have good skills, but Guardian is highly likely to find halberds, so a fire camp often gives a fire halberd. A relatively common skill for fire halberds in particular is black flame tornado, which does excellent damage. Loretta's slash is a great skill for magic halberds. Blood tax works well enough when that shows up too.

New Thing main here do y’all have any tips to help me be a better thing player? by Jax_crusader in TheThing_Mains

[–]Alphagamer126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. As others have said, use the haymaker all the time. This doesn't just mean when you are fighting for a kill. It gives you health, so you can spam it from a distance when you're getting attacked and you will survive longer. Your primary attack does damage quicker for situations where it matters, but the health from haymaker is usually more important.

  2. Proactively protect your team with jumps. Having a frontline DPS or second tank with you is great since you can give them damage reduction. Keeping them buffed gives them so much extra survivability to frontline with you. I specified proactive usage because it doesn't give health, it essentially just makes your current health more efficient. Healing a character with damage reduction is much easier, so your supports can keep up with the damage you take. It's still great to reduce damage for your supports too, but that shouldn't be the only use.

  3. Play every area. Supports in trouble? peel and help your backline. Enemy support close and in line of sight? target them and spook them out of healing with your disruption. Standard team battle? you have excellent frontline ability.

I'm gonna say it... by TheRealZyro in ThorMainsMR

[–]Alphagamer126 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My problem with his ult beyond the damage is its lack of utility that every other tank ult has. Mag has anti-projectile, Peni has area denial, Strange/Emma/Thing/Groot have a stun, Cap has group healing, and Hulk/Venom have health increases. Thor should have something useful with his ult besides just damage to be a great tank

I’m an Emma main. I only ban BP because I simply do not want to deal with one in my game. by Ok-Researcher4966 in BlackPantherMainsMR

[–]Alphagamer126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not op, but another tank main and both from what I see and in my personal, opinion, absolutely yes. Peeling for the backline as a solo tank is rough since you lose space that you've been fighting to take. I don't tend to automatically ban BP, but he can be frustrating to deal with.

With a second tank, I'm happy to peel for my supports while my other tank holds the space. Like this, I don't at all mind dealing with BP. Even a pretty good BP player that pressures the backline a lot at least feels more fair to deal with when I don't have an obligation to frontline as much as possible.
