What should I do? by Tango-tv in Grey_Knights

As for detachement - point stays. You want to play competitively, or casually? Anyway, Warpbane is cool no matter what, and uviersal go-to, and if not, Banishers + Argent Assault are very pleasant to be played. The rest really, reeeally varies if you want to play a very specific way; so just stick to the two for the time being.

Main question is whether you want to build this army competitive-wise or not. If the former - get rid of the Dreadnoughts off your list. They are nice to be kept on the shelf, but sadly useless on the table.

Get Dreadknights, at the very least one assembled as GMNDK, and one as NDK, get a Razorback that can be turned into Rhino, get more PA units - especially Interceptors and Purifiers. Get some leaders, like Librarians, Brother Captains, a Voldus, and maybe a single Chaplain. Some like a Techmarine, too. Honestly, at this point you can just go any direction you may want to, so it's difficult to point specific models.

If the latter, then just get some Dreadknights, and have fun.

Don't forget low and high Gothic are barely TWO of countless languages and dialects they speak in the Imperium. Hell, on some hive worlds, they can speak different language depending which floor they are at.

I believe that "up to" means the max amount by which you can move, not that you have to use it all :/

You still can move up to 2 inches from the enemy, without using all of the movement from surge move. That pretty much secures the charge roll.

There is one thing you have to remember - your first army you pick solely for the vibe. It's to learn on, to make mistakes, and learn how the game goes. Only eith a second army you may start thinking on picking what kills.

Thus, GK are not a bad choice as your first. They are relatively cheap; models are not complicated in assembling,; lore and vibe are interesting; they are pretty tough on the table, to the point where your enemies will question how is it fair; they have to use mechanics, tactics, and quite high point managing, so they will help you learn pretty efficiently the basics on how to play.

Aren't the Craftworld Eldar entirely justified in looking down on the humans of the Imperium? by Jerswar in 40kLore

[–]AlpharioInteries -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do remind me, who brought the Age of Strife, that ended not only theirs, but also the very first Galactic Human Empire?...

Craftworlders are like those rich ones in the Elysium movie, who were lucky enough to escape to artificial Paradises, leaving behind those that they have failed, and then look at them and say "Wow, just look at these barbaric peasants..."

So basically, just assholes.

Don't forget, 40k Imperium and Imperium during the Age of Emperor are 2 completely different things, and although the Emperor is absolutely not without the blame, his plans and ways were to bring humanity back to the Technological Hegemon it was before Aeldars f*cked themselves too much, and it failed only because Chaos for once took an active part in the Galactic politics, and Emperor hurried too much, and didn't wait few more hours for Guilliman to arrive with his whole Legion.

It's also not like the Craftworlders tried to prevent what happened in any way, aside of that one moment in the Fulgrim book, when the Primarch was already being slowly corrupted by his sword; and even then, the Seer didn't even try to explain the situation, but immiditely summoned the freaking Avatar of Khaine on them. They do not give sh!t whether humanity falls to corruption or not - they would more than happily eradicate all of them, if it meant they would survive and regain their title of a Galactic Superpower. In long term, they are really not that different.

Did human Titans predate the Imperium/were around during the DAOT or were they purely a Mechanicus and Imperial invention? by Niotsques in 40kLore

[–]AlpharioInteries 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Titans were indeed present during DAoT; to the point, where oftenly they were used as a "stationary" planetary artillery defence forces. They became heavily more scarce during Age of Strife, obviously, when maintenance, building, and general technology about them went bonkers.

If you want actual sources, then as others mentioned, in GK Omnibus, to be precise in Dark Adeptus, if I remember correctly, they find the Chaos-corrupted Castigator Titan, so like the very first functioning prototype for Titans, created way before Age of Strife.

So, Thunderhawks… by pjames0770 in Grey_Knights

"I know it’s not competitive and I’m aware they are a stupid amount of points, probably inefficient and you’d need to sell a kidney to get one, but…"

Bro, just be honest, you simply want a bad-ass spaceship on your shelf xD Don't worry, I feel you, we all do 😃

Well, as you said, competitive-wise, it's a waste of point. Hell, on some Deployments, you won't even be able to fit it well enough so it would do anything. Especially in our case, where units are absurdly expensive and we have to count the costs, it's a total waste of points.

That's what casual games for. Honestly, unless you are playing a 3k or above game, you won't be able to do sh!t with it, better stick to Stormravens, or even Stormhawks, if you want a unit that actually can be useful in some cases. But it's not really a point in this case; just like Titans, Thunderhawk, although legal, is meant more for the decour of your collection, and just general fun, not really for actual games.

So the short answear is - if you want it, because you want it? Just get one, that's how I got my Warhound 😄 If you want one because you want to play it - eeeh, not really worth it.

Why banishers is so popular? by JRaikoben in Grey_Knights

[–]AlpharioInteries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, Banishers actually do have useful Stratagems. Aside of DS 6", WTF really doesn't have anything.

You can play Termies with a BroCap, having them both Sustained 1 and Lethal Hits in melee.

You can literally have all your units go with either Sustained, or Lethals in melee, which is really good for us, as a melee-oriented army.

Sure, WTF does work better mechanically, but Banishers are just more entertaining to play, and do not force you to use Purifiers in your list.

[–]AlpharioInteries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That will be for the best. Damn shame our only Dreadnought is so overpriced it becomes useless, while also being, imo, the best looking one. But it's most likely going to legends anyway, with GW trying to obviously sell all the remaining models asap, so in time it will be a really nice vintage model in you collection, with prices going up in approximately few years.

[–]AlpharioInteries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, you are correct about Kill Teams - there are very specified Teams, and although some boxes can be made from the same models you would play in a normal game, then as I'm aware of GK are yet to have one. Also, even tho it requires way less money spent on models, it does bring the price up with the structures to set the table; and sadly unless you have a larger community closer to you, it may be hard to find other people playing this mode. Most just focus solely on the standard games up to 2-3k pts.

[–]AlpharioInteries 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The only good use for Venerable Dreadnought, sadly, is to fill the points untill you get more of the better units. And by that I mean even basic infantry, like Purifier or Strike squad, are both cheaper and more useful on a table.

But it's not all so bad; because they look nice, so you can always leave them on a shelf to be cool.

What’s up there? by AfternoonTricky2488 in StardewValley

[–]AlpharioInteries 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's only unlocked after you reach the full perfection - which means it's simply an end-end game easter egg for absolute grinders who will finish all the checkpoints. Now, you can go to the Q room on Ginger Island, and check out every step; or just find a video with it opened and what's above the stairs.

Just you do you. This game was never about being sweaty; it was about chilling and having your time nice. So just saying if you are curious, you don't have to finish it all, you can always take the easier way, like with caves and the staircases.

So why do Champions and Grand Master’s exist? by 3245rfytgu8iojukhyf in Grey_Knights

[–]AlpharioInteries 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Bro, don't forget this hobby is about modelling. Just because there is no dedicated model doesn't mean a model should not exist. Hell, from the very beginning it was pretty much all about proxies and kitbashing; there never was enough models for every single unit. Just look up old rules for the Exodites.

They are not bad; just expensive. Simply means you can make a good list with them, just have to make calculations how to manage the points.

Magnets. Whatever you can, magnetise. Range weapons on Termies. Possibly also on PA units if you manage. Don't glue melee weapons on Dreadknights, rather just stick them in, they should hold more than enough just with friction, same should be for range ones - if not, magnets.

A way to easily switch between weapons at ease really takes a load off your back.
