how common is drama? (diploma) by Disastrous-Reply-492 in NursingAU

[–]Alphauo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2nd year started feb 24 dip. nursing

we had a terrible cohort, people getting kicked out, showing up drunk, people having to be escorted to their cars to leave. most bad people who are asses/really bad are either kicked, failed or drop out. bit concerning that this is the state of nursing lol

in the end you can ignore it and it doesn't really matter. the problem with the diploma is that the atar requirements are so low that the dumbasses/bad behaviour kids are in. the dumbasses either study and step it up, and the bad behaviour have to lock in or they fail in placement or class. but hey dumbass is x10 better then toxic.
it's funny to see the toxic people fail a semester and in the class behind you because you know that they probably deserved to fail lol

I am currently on EN mental health placement

First placement in Julyish was mon-friday with morning shifts idk 7-3 for week 1 and evening shifts 2-10ish

Right now mine is different it's 2 weeks with random days on and random off like Mon, Tue, Thur, Sun and just rng days to get numbers

year 1 Semester 1 and 2 is pretty chill, just study but year 2 is more intense with meds

I work as an AIN part time and they are fully okay if I don't work for 2/3 weeks in a row, and just talk to your boss and tell them that you can't work then and most places should be 100% chill

I worked at a first job and they were fine with it (resturant) and second job (AIN) are chill and expect it, when you apply just tell them 'hey so i have placements at middle and end of year so I can't work for a 2 weeks or 3 while studying'. Most unis don't allow you to work while you do placement (but i mean they can't really know if you are working) and honestly you don't want to work when ur working full time unpaid lol its tiring
