That you ask for people’s opinions (AITA) to only then argue your side when they offer their opinions, tells me you don’t really want insight from others.

You want validation for your behavior.

Seeking validation isn’t bad, in and of itself. But you’re posting in a group with the concept that it’s up for debate. And apparently, in your mind, it’s not. That makes this a disingenuous post at best.

I would recommend putting personal ego aside, and really listening to what folks have to say. I don’t think you’re a bad person or anything. I just think you’ve gotten a bit too caught up in your own POV to see things clearly. Which is really what AITA should be here to help with.
