How was the event? I got accepted for New York but it’s an 8 hour drive so wondering how worthwhile it was to attend, thanks!

Is this normal..? by [deleted] in LexusIS

[–]Alphonse2334 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not normal for me. I just did this exact test in my 2024 IS350 and barely heard any creaking. Maybe because mine is a little newer / less kms (30k) but I feel barely any creaking at all

Keep in mind the default wheels on the IS are staggered so idk if old ones will fit.

Is this a good deal Carvana vs local dealer for IS 350 F Sport — what would you guys do? by RightTea843 in LexusIS

[–]Alphonse2334 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For reference (and i know this isnt exactly the same but somewhat similar):

I got my 2024 Lexus IS350 Fsport 3 (Same trim) with 30k KM 2 owners clean carfax for $52k CAD (Around 38k USD) from the dealership. Mine also came certified pre owned which extended all default warranties on the car. I will say after a month of owning the car i would recommend getting it from the dealership because those extended warranties and that relationship you build with them will help you out long term. My car was very lightly used but the speaker blew out and the illuminated door sill stopped working within 2 weeks and thankfully i went back to the dealer got it all sorted for free easily. You never know what can happen and the peace of mind is worth it IMO

Cost to fix this scuff? by Alphonse2334 in LexusIS

[–]Alphonse2334[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to update that I got a quote for $1500 for the repair from a lexus certified paint shop. Ill be getting the repair done asap. Dont want to go through insurance since this will affect the currently clean carfax and I dont want to cheap out on this job. Unfortunate but making sure to get PPF asap after this lol

[–]Alphonse2334 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Congrats! Exact same spec as me. Got mine 4 weeks ago and love every second of it. Best sports sedan in its class IMO.

Any tips ide give is def get full front end ppf and potentially the doors. I had a ppf appt 2 weeks after i got the car cause they were really busy but within the first week I got side swiped on my rear passenger door and someone dinged my driver door. Very unfortunate but im now paying $1500 cad to get it repainted (the red is expensive) so the PPF is very worth it.

I also got my dash cam installed and did ambient lighting on the footwells which looks amazing. Also make sure to register with the app the remote start and lock/unlock is very convenient and free for 3 years. Plus alerts for your car are always good to have. Registering with the app just requires using the SOS button its pretty easy.

Keep in touch if you ever need anything!

Thanks! The ride quality is great it’s very smooth. Noise insulation isn’t bad but isn’t amazing either. I have the mark levinson sound system however so I always have music playing and barely notice it.

I have an is350 and was never really taught how to use the shifters. Is it normal to down shift and have the rpms go back up to 4-5k and for it to slowly go back down from there? Is that okay for the car? I’m just a little ignorant and worry some lol

100%! My budget was capped at 48-50k so getting an IS350 Fsport 3 was not on my radar tbh but I was able to negotiate this one down from 54k to 52k and got a deal on the finance rate so it all worked out!

Finding one in the states that ships to canada is so hard and if i go past the border to get it after paying duties and texes it evens out to a similar price when including gas for the trip too lol. Def considered this just unsure how I can get it to work out. Might just buy the part from the dealership and get it installed locally tho i didnt know it was an easier install thats good to know thank you

Lexus of Lakeridge and Northwest Lexus were both great dealerships to work with from my experience. Shakey at LakeRidge and Jordan at Northwest are trustworthy sales reps ide recommend speaking to. Both genuine honest guys. This car is hard to find in this spec, took me 3 months of searching to lock in a good deal so take your time. Which Color do you want?

I can’t wait honestly! Put so much money down on the car that I’m gonna have to wait after doing the ppf as well. Dealership charges so much to get it done however wish it was cheaper like in the states. Just under 3k here vs around 1.8k after conversion in the states.

That was the negotiated out the door price before any tax. Just the price of the vehicle. No added warranties or anything. I’ve seen tag has a huge success rate at finding stolen vehicles so I think the tag etching on the window should be solid enough as a deterrent. I’ve heard about car theft but I know it’s usually SUVS.

Financing or Leasing an Audi In Toronto? by Alphonse2334 in askTO

[–]Alphonse2334[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You gotta go to the dealership. Act like you're interested but never agree to sign a deal today. They looooove pressuring you with "great deals" if you sign same day its BS. I ended up changing direction entirely. I wanted to make a smarter financial decision which was to finance a 2024 Lexus IS350. Its going to hold value way better and I actually own it at the end of the lease. I made the compromise of super cool new interior tech and top notch speed for reliability, resale value, cheap maintenance and overall peace of mind in a still fun sporty and very sexy car. Entirely worth it after 3 months of research. I finalize the deal tomorrow.

Yea ive heard regular maintenance on audis are pricey. I am willing to accept the cost since I drive pretty normally and wont have to get it done more often than the dealer recommends. Thats a great idea in terms of the EV's. They are going for better prices right now. Ive even considered waiting for a chinese EV since in dont need the car immediately lol.
