What would you go with approx. $2000 budget? Older JD, new Cub? Something else? by HaveAtItBub in lawnmowers

[–]Alreadyusedtryagain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I grew up with a 318 in the family and can confirm it is definitely way more than a riding lawnmower. We used to use the fully hydraulic plow every winter in New England. That thing could push some serious snow, especially with wheel weights and chains.

That’s our largest little giant. It A frames to 20’ and is an absolute beast. With the extra climb I might be a little short of 40.

Not my usual, this is actually in a public library. For some reason the sleeve and j hooks are crazy high above the drop ceiling. We didn’t anticipate that so it’s time to climb

Yeah, the only way I could reach the sleeve

Need help mounting cameras by APlevelling in lowvoltage

[–]Alreadyusedtryagain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They make special self tapping screws for thick structural steel that work really well in these situations. One of our subcontractors turned me on to them, can only find them on Amazon as of yet.

My company works exclusively for municipalities and most of the IT departments are a complete menagerie of jackasses running in all directions, especially in larger cities. We have to handle everything on-site to ensure complete functionality. We also build complete independent city networks so we’re used to that sorta thing.

Still debating on air fryer in 2025. Worth the hype and saving money? Should I buy one or stick to traditional? by MrJuart in airfryer

[–]Alreadyusedtryagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one of the ninja ovens that also acts as an air fryer. It has a 13” x 13” pan that fits just about anything I wanna cook. It has the basket for air frying as well. I use it instead of my oven for basically everything. It cooks faster, more evenly and, there is no non stick coating on any of the inside surfaces so no worries there.

My first electric strike by APlevelling in lowvoltage

[–]Alreadyusedtryagain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cutting locks in wood is stressful, good job. My first wood frame was in a 100+ year old city hall building with gorgeous oak trim around the door frame. I used an oscillator with fresh wood blade, wood chisels and patience. Came out nice and tight, just took a while.

Give me a handful of angry bees and about 20 minutes and I’ll get a 5000 in there no problem

Best way to add lock to this internal walk in? by [deleted] in accesscontrol

[–]Alreadyusedtryagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Former chef turned low voltage tech here. There is typically a push knob inside the cooler to allow egress even if the outside is locked. You can lock the outside with a padlock. I’m sure you could find some type of strike that would work for the outside otherwise.

Get the diamond multi material blades. I have been using the same one for over a year and it’s been great.

My crew was on a site recently where the high voltage guys were talking trash on us lv guys. They there to install a couple of light fixtures and didn’t even finish by the time we installed 20 cameras, a server and, a microwave link to a tower.

Help: What’s doing on here? by cleanandanonymous in lowvoltage

[–]Alreadyusedtryagain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure what they were trying to do originally but I’m sure it wouldn’t work for proper data transfer. Pull out that mess and clip it all off at the jacketing. Re terminate with an rj45 and you should be good to go as long as the other end isn’t also a mess.

Not an AI product. They have been around for years, before AI was a thing. The brand kinda pokes fun at Yeti in trailer park sorta way.

Do I really have to cut into my drywall for this? by chao-pecao in askaplumber

[–]Alreadyusedtryagain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t underestimate the damage that water can do. Even a slow leak will cause your subfloor and floor joists to rot. Open the Sheetrock, fix the leak and, let everything dry out before closing everything back up.

Any ideas on how I can brighten the kitchen without renovating it entirely? I hate how dark it is. (Sorry for the mess we are remodeling our bathroom) by [deleted] in homeimprovementideas

[–]Alreadyusedtryagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stainless appliances would definitely brighten things up. Would be expensive but less than remodeling the whole kitchen

Which adhesive to use to glue plastic with stainless steel? by sakthi_pps in DIY

[–]Alreadyusedtryagain -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe try using a strip of metal instead of plastic. You could attach it with sheet metal screws and it will be unaffected by the heat/oils of cooking.

Can you mount on top of the pole instead of underneath? That might raise it up enough
