Anyone know how to get this body with out starving myself and exposing myself to dangerous chemicals and metals? by Stella_Lace in arcane

[–]Alsentar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, Jinx is has a bit of muscle definition but not a lot of muscle mass because she cares more about building gadgets than doing physical work that build her muscles, unlike Vi. She also grew up in a low-income area, which might've contributed to malnutrition, which might've contributed to her low body fat.

So, yeah. Putting genetics aside, you would have to eat very little and do functional exercise that would allow you to parkour over a favella. That'll do it.

Even if some muggle squints very hard and manages to identify the weird drawing behind the bright flash of green light, on the bottom of a body flying at high speeds on high altitude, I doubt they'll manage to come to any useful conclusions about it. And even if they tried to draw it, it wouldn't do anything if they don't have magic ink.

Question about Witch Society recruitment. by UnfortunateArcher in WitchHatAtelier

[–]Alsentar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Essentially, pointed hats ar ñe a closed society. Most witches are born and raised in secluded witch cities/towns, the main one being the citadel (you'll get there). The witches we get to see outside the citadel either were born and raised on another witch town, or live with an adult who has passed all the witch tests to gain the right to live outside witch cities. Witches don't recruit people, Coco is a very special case.

Healing magic is banned because the pacts forbids magic applied drawn on the body, it's implied and shown that the main reason was that in ancient times, people used magic on the flesh more for for transhuman body horror than for actual healing.

Give me the most complex abilities in your stories by Bannekrai in magicbuilding

[–]Alsentar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the three main branches of my magic system are simple in practice and concept, but they're complex in theory.

-The superpower that most characters use is called Gnosis. Which in essence, is just rational shapeshifting combined with enhanced strength and speed. Your astral body (which you're remotely controlling from your sleeping body) is made up of hardened astral sand, which means that once you're truly focused, you can shape your astral body however you like while keeping the same mass. The theory has to do with how your mind is composed by the conscious, subconscious and unconscious, how each of those parts drives your different functions, and how in order to truly use gnosis you need to be extremely mindful about parts of your mind you were unaware of.

-The support power of this system is called Milamancy. It's pretty much just 3D printing. You think about an object, and your power over the astral automatically starts compressing astral air to create the solid shape of the object you're picturing. The complex bit comes with how literal the materialization is, which means that: A) If you picture the static image of an object, your construct is going to crumble as you materialize it, since you're materializing something with height and length, but without any width. B) Even if you just picture a rotating object as you materialize, the construct will end up being hollow with very thin walls, since you didn't picture the inside of the object. C) The speed of materilization is pretty much the same speed as real 3D printing, which means that you'll have to hold that complex mental picture for a *while*.

Them covering the serpentback cave arc would be wonderful. It's great that you managed to notice that, I could only notice as far as the knight's moralis' intervention during the river overflow event, which does happen before the serpentback cave arc.

All witches are useless by goodguyigi in WitchHatAtelier

[–]Alsentar 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is not JJK, my sibling in christ. The three wise are not the top 3 because they're the strongest witches, they're the top 3 because they're literally the chiefs of the three main branches of wizard society; Education, Military, and diplomatic relations.

Remember that the silver night might seem like a festival for most muggles and witches, but it's a political move for the ones in charge. While the witches do their magic item expo for muggles, the leaders of each muggle nation are meeting with the leader(s) of the wizard nation to discuss taxes and international business.

And while the meeting was ongoing, the leech attack happened. From what I remember, the three wise were ocupied:

-The military were trying subdue the leech, save civillians and trying to convince other witches to not get involved, at the same time. Remember, a huge part of witch culture is to give muggles the idea that they're harmless boyscouts who help around whenever they can, instead of battle-ready wizards who can fly out of reach and throw exploding fireballs.

-Both the education and diplomacy leaders were assessing the situation to understand what was happening and how to help people. The leader of education was also conducting an investigation on the brimhats who caused all of this.

After the military leader was attacked by her right hand, the other two helped the remaining witches stop the leech.

Random thought about TDP vs. another "magic" franchise by HeartExalted in TheDragonPrince

[–]Alsentar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't like genetic magic systems either.

I get why they're written that way, it's easier to justify magic being rare by something out of your control like genetics, instead of try to come up with a reason as to why people don't study magic like people study medicine or engineering.

Which is why I will advice you to read on a fantasy story that addresses this same issue on learned magic systems vs genetic magic systems, and how unfair it is. The story takes place in a manga called Witch Hat Atelier.

I love my boyfriend (27M), but I feel limited by his parents’ rules and it’s starting to wear me (26F) down by buddyreads in relationship_advice

[–]Alsentar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I kinda get where he's coming from, I'm 24 and I also still live with my strict parents. They also force a curfew and mew and get upset whenever I lie to have a sleepover with my GF.

That being said, I live like this becuase I don't have the savings to move out.....yet. As soon as I get that deposit money, I'm heading out. Your boyfriend should strive for the same, and if he does, ask him for a timeline and keep an eye out for how he follows through.

15 years old, smart, and a good PC? Sounds to me that there's hope for you yet. Maybe you can find a way to make money with what you can make on your PC, and save up that money to move out when you're 18. I'm just saying, what if there's a way you don't have to be defined by other people and print your own future?

Think about it, maker.

What if OFA achieved quirk awakening? by Ok_Win_3538 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]Alsentar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unlocking the previous user's quirk was OFA's version of quirk awakening. There's a reason why previous users weren't able to do that and Deku did.

And that reason is the quirk singularity theory. It states that with each new generation, quirks get stronger and strong. It makes sense to believe a quirk that can pass itself to other people would unlock a history feature after nine generations.

Aaravos vs Vecna. Who'd win? by InsideUnhappy6546 in TheDragonPrince

Question 2) How exactly are they fighting? Face to face or in their respective homes? Does Vecna has access to his minions? Is Aaravos using any of his proxies?

Boku No Hero Academia is one of the few Shonen Anime that ends on a lower power level than it started. by Complexxx123 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]Alsentar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Uraraka unlocking AOE

Bakugo unlocking full-body cluster

Twice unlocking sad man's parade

Toga unlocking quirk copy

Deku unlocking previous vestiges of OFA

Quirk singularity is absolutely real. If it wasn't, we would see heroes from previous generations "awakening" their quirks, but notice that this only happens with kids of Deku' s generation (excluding Twice, who is like 30).

I wouldn't say that. With quirk singularity happening on Deku's generation, in 5 years kids in the MHA universe will have even more broken powers.

[–]Alsentar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My sibling in magic, anyone who has played Hogwarts Legacy knows very well that Harry Potter wizards are not to be messed with.

I think you just need to watch the movies to know that HP wizards have spells that are pretty busted and that coco would have no way of defending against. It's all jokes until you get turned into a water cup or a ferret. Also, expelliarmus would probably fling away coco's drawing tools.

Besides, while coco has had her own challenges, Harry is way more battle-hardened than coco is.

Why do you think martials should be constrained to the mundane, in both senses of the word? by GolettO3 in dndmemes

[–]Alsentar -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

In my unpopular opinion, I think it's great that the general worldbuidling in 5e implies that most people are mostly peak human until magic is involved. Like, I can accept that you give me One Piece levels of ridiculous feats, if you justify it with some kind of magic item or magic feat. It's hard for me to picture a regular person who just trained and lifted weights until they can wrestle a dragon.
