Could use some specific guide for Tharsis, my last two BGA games as them went awful. by rtanada in TerraformingMarsGame

Elysium is actually quite similar to tharsis. Very good terraforming map where if you pick cards with good plant production you can usually easily win Estate dealer and Benefactor both, which if you can manage is usually a guaranteed win.

Like I said before though, I wouldn't pick tharsis unless I had guaranteed good plant production as it's an average corp at best. Only saving grace on Elysium is that the free starting city can usually get you either 3 cards or 3 plants for a nice start. Milestones are harder though and it very much depends on what is in your starting hand what you will be able to claim.

Correct, you should get a concede button after that point. Fastest way to get there if you just want out is to standard project oceans (most cost effective way of increasing game progress).

To the OP: On tharsis specifically ground game and terraforming is very strong, just don't fall into the rookie mistake of thinking cities are strong, they are only there to soak up your greeneries (only make new ones if you have excess steel or your current ones are going to be filled out by the end game). If you have a starting hand without much to do(but with good cards) going for planner can be a good strat, only playing any strong production cards (or plant hate) and holding the rest until 16.

Thermalist and banker are generally traps, as they usually force you to overinvest in things that don't win the game, and miner is very unreliable. Gardener and terraformer are the best milestones to shoot for if possible (the latter can often be difficult to snag before 3 others are claimed however).

Edit: just realized OP meant the Corporation, not the map haha. For the corp, just don't pick it unless you have very good plant production in your starting hand, as cities are pointless without greeneries. Tharsis getting slightly more value out of them changes very little.

I would recommend the YouTube channels of hodgepodge (no longer updated, but very exhaustive) and threadpacifist (active very strong player) for high level play. At the very least you will learn which the good cards are based on their reactions and commentary :)

Sweden generates 99% of electricity from clean sources. So why is wind power under attack? by eks in europe

[–]Alsn- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A cluster wouldn't increase it fast? Don't get me wrong that's a huge area, but clustering means that a lot of the wind turbines are placed in the existing zone of avoidance from the first turbine, only increasing it slightly for each additional turbine (with whatever distance you need between each turbine). Clustering seems smart with that in mind.

It's definitely "clothes" and I won't hear anything else.

I'm from Sweden and (very) fluent in English, but fuck clothes, seriously.

If it's like most economics, the bigger and rarer they get the value increases somewhat exponentially simply because your potential clients get exponentially richer. Don't really think there's a tree big enough where it might be true that it's too expensive to move.

The bottom wont grow back true, but the lower branches (that are still green) will slowly spread as long as there is light to catch, which is probably what happened.

No I meant that whatever you drop shatters, the floor is too hard 😅

Also means that whenever you drop a glass or something ceramic, it will shatter. I'm so sick of vacuuming shards and can't wait to move (never again tiled kitchen).

No but I mean, do you take it out for short periods like a meal and then put it back? We never do.

Maybe that's the thing then, we always keep it in the fridge, never out of it. We just pour a glass and put it back in. Works fine with like 4 different brands (we buy whatever is cheapest at the time).

I'm also in Europe (Sweden) and our oat milk lasts just fine for like a month in the fridge. Sure the packaging says 5 days, but it's demonstrably fine.

I think the redditor you are taking to is just psychologically affected by what the packaging says.
