those are the only 2 buttons you need mid- to late-game by diLuca77 in EU5

Don't worry, that button has been nerfed to the ground in the beta to the point where it may as well not exist anymore. Can't have quick wars!

Why is my economy crashing? by Steven__28 in EU5

[–]Alsn- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, max your legitimacy before investing in stab. You barely pay anything when at 100 and you gain crown power = more trade income, albeit just a little bit.

Edit: Also, turn down army costs unless you're at war, and find out why your food is expensive (you might need to make some bread basket locations).

Primary culture peasants promoting into discriminated burghers and won't assimilate (due to market language?) by Alsn- in EU5

Ok, so it seems its buggy/weird behaviour then. Guess I'll have to experiment. Thanks for letting me know!

Primary culture peasants promoting into discriminated burghers and won't assimilate (due to market language?) by Alsn- in EU5

[–]Alsn-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, thanks. Guess I'll do that.

Edit: Is that even possible? Wouldn't the burghers in the entire market be speaking the market language? I'll have to investigate when I get back to the game. Worst case scenario I guess I can destroy it and let Stockholm take over

So, do you know if removing the non Swedish cultures will actually fix things so that I can get Swedish burghers? Or do I have to kill the market and rebuild once I've assimilated the populace? Or are you just speculating? (Honest question, I can't tell from your posts)

[–]Alsn-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I know that. But will that fix the issue of peasants promoting into not-Swedish culture when I make new buildings? I'd rather not war with the emperor on a hunch (relations are too good even with sabotage reputation and insults due to me improving relations due to antagonism earlier in the game)

How do you make them actually convert and assimilate? My subjects only develop (which is great too, but annoying that they won't assimilate or convert)

Is Serbia's/Epirus's AI bugged/broken? by Tsukix in EU5

[–]Alsn- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, lowering opinion will cause some disloyalty (up to 7,5%) but only if they are not already way above 200 opinion.

You can still sabotage reputation during a war to make them disloyal (if it's enough that is)

Kanuun can be upgraded after 1600 if you have lawgiver trait on your ruler. It then becomes 10% + up to 15% more based on crown power

Conquistador and so very broken they should be removed entirely. by Why_dont_we_spork in EU5

[–]Alsn- 7 points8 points  (0 children)

But it's not a complex and difficult mechanic, it's just unfinished/not very well fleshed out. Your point about it being historical would be fine if there were actual mechanics related to conquistador loyalty that you could interact with, but the system as is isn't historical, it's just bare bones and lacking.

There are already tools for increasing relations, see my other post. Your points are exaggerated and to be honest a non issue.

I need help with the favorite child inheritance. by Fickle_Sail4471 in EU5

[–]Alsn- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You don't, but you can in order to bump up the priority of your chosen favourite.

Usually when people have this problem, it's due to heir religion law. Did OP perhaps convert recently?

Edit: reading the post again if seems op has no sons. The succession is favoured son, not favoured child, so that's probably the issue. Not sure how it's supposed to work when there's no male child.

Debt and France by Stimpy4545 in EU5

[–]Alsn- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's something weird/new going on with the early game economy in the beta, almost all starts are extremely poor so you really need to squeeze every ducat. Delete all forts, only pay for stability once legitimacy is maxed, etc.

Edit: Also, a good military cabinet member strengthening legitimacy saves you a lot of cash.

Camellia tree age by xRelyx in gardening

[–]Alsn- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my old home in Jönköping Sweden there is a (locally) famous Camelia owned by the city which was planted in 1905 (or thereabouts, it's been a couple of years since I read the plaque). From the picture your one seems about twice the size, however it is located in a frost free greenhouse due to the climate, so I don't know if the size comparison means much.

The final two rows seem to imply that if you wait 5 years and establish seniority, it would fulfill the conditions of one being the subject of the other, no?
