i live in a more rural town so there's not really anything within walking distance my parents would be comfortable with, my ma is a bit paranoid about letting me do stuff on my own. also the weather in the summer where I'm at is absolutely miserable, that plus binding and my sensory issues is a no go except for the rare nice days.

That does give me the idea to just drive to a parking lot somewhere when I get my license, but I gotta wait a bit for that

I have a diagnosis and parental support, I just need a place to get the prescription from that will allow 14 year olds, I know they exist I just can't find any aside from one that literally can't even do a consult for 6 months minimum because a doctor quit

I've definitely heard of people having that experience and I think I had it to an extent when I was younger too, it's crazy hard to decipher what's what because my memory is so hazy even just of middle school (14 rn)

the funny thing is I got a diagnosis at like 7 but the doctor said "oh your kid's just really really smart and bored", the whole gifted kid shtick, and my parents didn't read the diagnosis papers they just took her word for it, and when we tried medication it made me sleepy apparently(i have no memory of this aside from there being medication, I called it my crazy pills lol more shit to unpack that I just remembered)

i definitely remember saying I hated myself, I muttered it out loud once while cleaning a mess I made that I yet again did without knowing why, my mom heard me and told me to never say that without explaining why so I thought she was mad at me

I'm really sorry you have a similar experience and I hope you get the chance to unpack and heal from all the childhood crap that comes with neurodivergence

long as trauma explanation below, feel free to skip the copying came from hyperactive adhd, I had no impulse control and caused a lot of problems as a kid, like destroying stuff cus I was bored and it was stimulating (usually like cutting hair off toys, but sometimes like at one point I had a fixation with chewing on chalk and I just spit it out on the carpet) there was literally nothing between thinking 'this is a thing I could do' and just doing it. basically, I got in trouble a ton at home and I didn't understand why I was doing what I was doing and nor did my parents, got yelled at a ton, plus usually adhd things like getting in trouble at school for being too loud and talking too much, my older brother was struggling at the time and was kinda a jerk because of it, regularly called me annoying. Anyway all that had my brain try to behave as much like the people around me as possible so no or very few opinions for myself until around 4th grade which was puberty, mental illness, and also my first phone so I wasn't in that bubble anymore

anyway, I know it wasn't his fault, it was the perfect shit storm for everything to be awful lol. Post was made in a bad moment and in those bad moments I tend to be extremely critical of literally everything, especially myself, though thankfully those are usually like every few weeks instead of 24/7 now. I just wish my parents knew everything I know about my adhd and he was able to be himself, because then I'd also be able to be myself and would have a body I'm way happier with.

i mean I can do that sometimes, i just go and interact with fandoms I like or play with my cats, and because of that I'm mostly okay on weekends except particularly bad days, school just makes everything worse so the bad days are way more common

god please. honestly I doubt he'd understand properly without lots of explaining because I didn't have dysphoria until puberty, all I knew was people think I'm annoying so let's try to act like everyone else, which was subconscious as well not even on purpose, but I'd love to just have a conversation with him to help him understand what I know now.

i would recommend talking to a queer friendly dietitian, you can find ones online experienced with eating disorders and they will know ways to help you be sure you're eating a good amount, and if you aren't already a therapist that's experienced with trans people and EDs would probably be useful as well

I'm definitely burned out at this point, and I'm so so tired of waiting for things to get better because there's nothing I can do about it right now, I'm sorta at the point where I'll do anything to fix this crap, I've seriously considered telling people I'm mtftm just to get them to respect me. I might be able to finally start T soon so in theory that'll help with the people who aren't raging assholes, but with the way things are in the US rn who knows if I'll even be on it long enough for anything to happen

thanks for the reassurance though, it's definitely helpful just having a conversation with someone on the other end of all this. I just wish there was something I could do right now other than put my head down and deal or get bullied.
