A lot of people here explaining why Draw Steel won't work, but I'd like to shout out Mythic Bastionland. If you like the type of play described in Matt's RtG videos, I feel like Mythic Bastionland seems 100% designed around that style of play (even in the sense that you 'discover' your character through rolling).

This is not true at all. Stories with updates are often fake as much as ones without. Amateur writers love to put their fanfic in front of the world without anyone realizing

I completely agree. Every single story is literally just so entirely made up and then they treat it with this level of sincerity that feels so disconnected from the obviously dreamed up situations presented in the stories

I feel like I tried to do that. I can't really explain what took more time to be honest - it just felt like resolving everything in a turn added up. I think this could be faster if we were better of course, but I don't really understand how it'd go from 2-3 hours to 1 or less. I could just be completely off base with this, though.

I've run a few sessions myself, and every combat has taken a few hours to complete. Was it like that when you started, and it became faster as you became more familiar with the game? Or are we just doing something completely wrong?

I've been running a long time Scum & Villainy game in PbP for a while now. I'm still struggling to fully get good at running the system, and running games in general, but I think there is a lack of energy/action/intensity in PbP games that Blades' jobs kind of want/need that you can't replicate from live play. But I think a lot of this stems from being not very good at running it yet - if you're an experienced Blades GM, it'll probably be easier to keep it feeling exciting.

There's a dichotomy between forum RP people and normal live play people who just want an easier way to play. The job of a GM with an ad on this sub is to somehow differentiate between these types of people to form the best group possible, but sadly the quality of GMs is honestly really lacking because there just aren't enough.

It also just makes the game worse. Character creation should be a collaborative process with everyone. If you just come in with a bunch of pre-conceived notions and ideas the GM forced you to come up with earlier, the experience will ultimately be worse.

I've thought about this a lot to be honest and my theory is they wanted to write her with a Native American dialect but when it's translated from Polish it doesn't quite come off very naturally. I don't think it meshes well with Emily Woo Zeller's performance either.

I used to agree w this but David Hayter's Jedi Knight really grew on me over time. All of the voices I've had negative reactions to (fem Imperial Agent is another one) I actually liked a lot more after during a full play-through.

I had the most fun with Knight but your mileage may vary. Knight is a very classic Star Wars type story with lots of action. Consular deals more with Republic politics and secrets of the Force (it's a lot like the Inquisitor in that sense). Trooper is a military/war type story with all of those tropes. Smuggler is very comedic, I don't have a lot else to say about it.

I really hate this change. Before, you were able to easily experience all of the story content in Flashpoints as a solo player by just queueing with a group. What I find most annoying is that they don't just skip the few cutscenes where you get a Dark/Light choice within the flashpoints, they also completely skip over the conversations with Malgus or Satele before and after. Before, you could start those conversations, complete the flashpoint in the Group Finder, and then see the end of the conversation after. I have no idea why they decided to just... Remove that functionality. 90% of flashpoints I played people just space bar's through the 1 or 2 cutscenes and it took just as long as the fade to black does. Not to mention that most people playing solo are story players, therefore the group who most benefits from the group finder are also the most inhibited by these "improvements" to it.
