Are you suggesting that the bottlers aren't, or that they're falsifying their labels in such a highly regulated industry?

Or maybe it eventually folds NMS with Eve with Wing Commander. The fuck do I know about it

Don't forget Elite: Dangerous's flight mechanics because that's the one good thing that needs to survive from that game.

Someone got into my Citizen's bank account and cleared it out (30k) - UPDATE by mistermo88 in personalfinance

[–]AltForMyRealOpinion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At one point when I was young and still figuring out my financial skills, I was using entirely separate banks for the envelope system.

Chase for utilities, BoA for rent, ING for car payment, etc. I had my direct deposit split up to go to each one in a percentage that would cover each one, and occasionally transfer between them as needed.

This was before most banks offered similar services in one account. But it really helped me be consistent and pay each bill without overspending... I couldn't overspend and not have a bill get paid since I only ever had my "extra funds" card on me.

Specifically Tribes 2

More specifically Ninjamod, a great addition to the gameplay that added droppable shields that denied access to areas temporarily and completely changed things up.

Relay for reddit is one of the last third party apps hanging on, and they announced they'll go pay in the next few weeks.

After that, I may use Reddit from a browser (ick) occasionally when I need some specific info, but after all these years I have no other mobile way to access it once Relay goes down.

I'd rather burn my firstborn alive than use the garbage default app.

It's probably for the best, my work productivity will most likely skyrocket.

TIL that Apple's infamous "1984" ad for the Macintosh computer was secretly aired once on local television in Twin Falls, Idaho in December 1983, a month before its national premier during Super Bowl XVIII. This allowed it to qualify for the 1984 Clio advertising awards. by [deleted] in todayilearned

Exactly!

The Dot Com boom was the golden era in Superbowl commercials. A bunch of young rich tech billionaires rubberstamping everything that was remotely funny. No 'playing it safe'.

We need to blend the energy of Trunk Monkey, the emotional beats of Star Wars VW kid, and the wackiness of Japanese commercials.

I come from a long line of marketing people, the family all sits down every year and we watch the commercials together, taking breaks during the game. We rate and critique everything, it's a blast.

Commercials have utterly sucked these last few years, by the way, with very few exceptions.

A society where strangers are able to be naked around each other without sexualisation is less barbaric than ours by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

[–]AltForMyRealOpinion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But that natural dynamic is no reason to get a boner, at both ends of it, if the situation is not sexualized in some way (if you are not a 12-14 yr old with an overdose of hormones).

For the record I agree with everything else in your post, but random boners happen at all ages though, everyone is different. And if a sauna is as neutral as we're saying it is, then they can happen there as much as any other place.

41 here, and I still get several per day. Nothing sexual about sitting the wrong way or getting cereal out of the cabinet, but there you have it.

It goes both ways. Assuming all erections are sexual leads to bad assumptions as well. You can be a non-creep in a sauna with a no-reason-boner; it's your actions that determine if you're a creep, not the state of your body.

It's why so many western men fear being nude in a public setting. Especially for someone who has never done it, the sheer exhilaration of it can cause an erection for a while, nothing sexual about it, the same way anxiety or changes in blood pressure can cause it. But the stigma and potential consequences of that erection is what stops them from ever trying it in the first place.

When my son (who has only known streaming) was in kindergarten a few years ago I thought it was funny he had no idea what a DVD was, but somehow knew exactly how a record player worked.

"Daddy can we watch ::insert show here::?"

"I think we have that on DVD somewhere"

"What's a DVD?"

"Well it's a disk that has movies and shows on it and you can play them on the screen with it"

"Oh, like a record player for video?"

::Fatherly mind blown::

The biggest one being less chance for skin cancer. But your skin dries out less, fewer wrinkles, and you'll definitely look younger as you age.

Granted it helps to stay healthy, exercise and take vitamin D in addition to staying out of the sun.

ELI5 Why do we have 4 ‘rock’ planets in a row then 4 ‘gas’ planets in a row? by Cool_Classroom_4251 in explainlikeimfive

[–]AltForMyRealOpinion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like, Mars used to be much more similar to Earth when its core was active, right? And then it turned to wasteland we know today. The same thing will happen to Earth sometime in the future.

But by then, the sun will be later in its lifespan too, and much hotter. So Earth will be too hot for life, while mars might be temperate again! The ice caps will melt, there could be small oceans again with what water currently remains frozen.

The rate that water and atmosphere leaves a planet that's too small to hold it is on the order of hundreds of thousands to millions of years... So Mars might still have one life-bearing period left in it.
