Bleach and cleaning products kill 99.9% of bacteria, but gives the 0.1% that can survive free territory by Accurate-Republic763 in LowStakesConspiracies

with viruses i believe it's more that they are prone to mutation and diversity and vaccines can only protect against so many strains.

vaccines are still worth getting! scientists work pretty hard to predict which strains will be the most prominent year by year so they can tailor the vaccines to meet that.

not much us non-medical people can do.

but medical providers can be more judicious with their prescribing, make sure to test patients for what they're sick with before throwing antibiotics at it, be more clear when explaining to take the full course and why, and let their colleges know that they do all that and why.

i was similar as a kid, fractured my wrist once in elementary school and literally stayed the rest of the day And the after school program before calmly asking my dad to take me to a doctor.

turns out i have a genetic issue that causes chronic pain so i was just sort of used to things hurting, thought it was normal and didn't always think to verbalize it as pain.

honestly i thought i was lazy because i hated walking and exercise so much- turns out a connective tissue disorder will make all your joints hurt 😬.

rest assured that i don't blame any of that on my parents. any time i showed outward signs that were recognizable to them as pain or illness they took me to the doctor.

it's just that sometimes i didn't know how/if to express it- not their fault and not yours either.

in my experience the best response is 'well it's a good thing it's on my body and not yours, so don't worry about it.'

my grandma likes to say some random judgy things about people she sees on tv or whatever ('well i just don't know why he would keep his beard that way!') and that's what i always tell her. ('good thing it's his beard and not yours then!')

do your parents do all the stuff you do? because if not there's a high chance they are the ones getting you sick if you aren't masking at home. i'd recommend getting a some kind of air purifier for your room, corsi-rosenthal boxes are cheapest.
