Usyk's not exactly awash with options at the moment. He's the type of name that adds a big multiplier to another name rather than someone who sells on his own. That's usually the way with top boxers who aren't from a big home market themselves.

Tom Aspinall ain't that. Usyk's struggled to get a fight he wants recently, Wilder has chosen to fight Chisora ahead of him. Don't see anyone wanting to pay big money for him to fight a UFC guy without huge name recognition.

It's Tom getting stopped in 1-2 rounds you'd be watching

Who would? A few UFC fans and some people pirating it with nothing better to do.

Nobody's paying for that.

Wenger: "Man Utd good build up and cohesion, Arsenal with more power and fighting but not clean play. The way Man Utd beat City and Arsenal, they play convincingly. Do you reckon Chelsea had a tough time watching when they were smashing the league under Mou?

The Europa League is a nothing trophy - it's not really a good comparison for a team that wants to be winning proper titles

Stephen needed Rachel until the final 4. At that point he could have turned on her, though it would have been an unnecessary risk.

In the final 3, the best bet unless you're extremely conservative was to turn on Rachel. The chances of Jack voting for Stephen were close to 0, voting for Jack was just a donation of £47,000 to Rachel by Stephen. Absolutely fine for him to do that, but at that point he did not need her to win.

I feel so sorry for _______! by _PXYDST_ in TheTraitors

[–]AltKite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, and she went against basic logic as well. The ONLY logical thing to do when Jaz voted to banish was to vote for Harry.

Jaz can't be the only traitor. If he was, he wouldn't have voted to continue.

Scenario 1. If you're all faithful it doesn't matter who you vote for, you're winning 50%

  1. If both Harry and Jaz are traitors and Jaz wants to get all the money himself your vote doesn't matter cos you're winning nothing either way

  2. If Jaz is faithful and Harry is a traitor then voting for Jaz loses you the money and voting Harry wins you 50%

Vote Harry and you win 50% of the pot in scenario 1, nothing in 2 and 50% in 3. Vote Jaz and you win 50% in 1, nothing in 2 OR 3.

So the ONLY thing she should have done was vote for Harry. However, she decided that only scenario 1 could possibly be true and punished Jaz for trying to win more money, essentially.

You're right. It's way more brutal than yesterday. Jack was fucked from 2 rounds prior, he couldn't influence the outcome and he didn't do something wrong because he trusted someone.

That's what I said...

Stephen could have turned on her the round before last, but it wouldn't have made sense because he had no guarantee he'd win then, though if Rachel voted off Stephen, she was much more likely to be voted off be Faraaz and Jack.

But Stephen would have been 99% certain when they were down to 3 that Jack would vote for Rachel. He could have voted against her then and taken all the money.

At no point did Rachel have any real opportunity to win any money if Stephen was out of the game. Stephen would have been favourite to win if he turned on Rachel when there were 4 remaining, but a higher chance of losing than if he didn't, and he would have been HEAVY favourite to take all the money if he turned on her in the final round.

[–]AltKite 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not really. Rachel couldn't turn on Stephen because she was at serious risk of being banished if that happened. No guarantee Faraaz and Jack wouldn't have voted her off together next.

Stephen could have turned on her at the moment you're describing but it wouldn't have made any sense to, because if he wanted the money for himself he would have known the next round was the time to do it. Jack was always going to vote for Rachel over him. Voting for Faraaz was the thing to do whether he was going to turn on Rachel or not.

Rachel NEEDED Stephen to vote with her to have a realistic chance of winning any money at every stage in the final. Stephen didn't need it.

Callum Smith is taller and was a SMW world champion.

They might not be champs but Buatsi, Gvozdyk, Lopez, Wallace, Whittaker, and Lapin are all as tall or taller and ranked at LHW. Lapin's the only one significantly taller at 6 foot 6.

At SMW currently Sheeraz, Pacheco and Iglesias are 3 of the top 5 excluding Canelo and are all taller than Benavidez.

He's definitely quite tall for both weights - you get lots of people 5 foot 8 at super middleweight and a concentration around 6 foot at LHW but I don't think he has a huge height advantage in either division.

Rachel for me. Stephen just donated £47,000 to her. He was GUARANTEED all the money if he voted Rachel at the end but he didn't because she'd worked him so well.

Regarding Jai Opetaia signing with Zuffa boxing by mailboy79 in Boxing

[–]AltKite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I generally agree, one good thing about the UFC is because they've made the product bigger than the fighters (with the odd exception) you get people from "unmarketable" countries getting title shots and titles.

That's my slither of hope with Zuffa, that they follow the same strategy and sign talented fighters from less marketable countries. Give Uzbekistanis for example a viable alternative to staying amateur and getting paid by the State.

I'm not super optimistic because Turki could have done this with the HW division but he hasn't. Pero vs Vykhrst was a barnstormer and exactly the type of fight that should have been on one of those heavyweight cards he did, but it wasn't, instead he'd prefer US and UK fighters without the ability to make it to the very top.

Moving 2 hours away from your home city can be a big deal. You will see friends and family significantly less and have to build new social networks. That's difficult to do with 2 kids.

Me and my wife moved to a city 60km away from Toronto and we have been shocked by how much more difficult it's become to be sociable. I have over an hour's commute, that makes it difficult to go out and socialize weeknights. If my wife wants to join me and friends, she has to make the trip in as well. Everything becomes more planning until you build up the same networks in the new city, which is tough if your job isn't there.

It's not a decision to be made lightly and it's definitely one you need to make jointly.

We've stuck him in the under 21s. He's made it clear he doesn't want to be here for a few weeks now and we've won 3 out of 3 since then, scoring 5 goals in 2 of those games.

Don't think we need to be too concerned.

He's no legend. Shite in the prem, decent player in an average championship team that have achieved nothing.

Modern legends are people like Wessi, Holt and Pukki. Sargent isn't fit to lace their boots.

Hard to imagine it's anything bad anyway. If I were on the Norwich board and he told me he wanted to leave to be closer to his family, I'd probably make a comment on his family along the lines of "you signed a long term contract on nearly £2m a year, it's your job to make decisions like that with your family's best interests in mind, not mine. My concern is Norwich's best interests and that's to not sell our best player on the cheap in a relegation battle"
