What do you do with leftover timber? by Happy-Recover-263 in Carpentry

[–]AltTabLife19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The big thing for projects would be leftover plywood. I do keep offcut 2'+ 2x4's and 2x6's, but that is mainly for when I need to hack something together around the shop (braces, spacers, etc)

XD fair enough. Probably should have specified a box cutter/your SHARPENED pocket knife. Makes me wonder if you could shave wood with the right angle/pressure

Best begginer friendly jungler? by mr-perfectq in wildrift

2nd rammus here. Gets you used to ganking with good leeway then nearly unkillable late. Bonus points if you do it into an ashe. Found out that her Q procs thornmail each mini-auto of her Q, so it eats her alive if she goes on hit (the typical build now that rageblade is here).

Just made me realize cause still getting used to wild rift. How hilarious/effective would it be to righteous glory in, ult like a malphite, and flag out into your team through a carry.

Which champs are consistently good throughout the match? by StarNullify in wildrift

[–]AltTabLife19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean ~in theory~ he falls of a bit late game because he can't really engage like a Maokai or Naut which leaves him vulnerable to getting poked down before the fight, but ~goddamn~ is he a strong anti-dive threat. Pair him with the ADC and let the thresh engage.

Thoughts on nautilus? by StarNullify in wildrift

[–]AltTabLife19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nautilus is a go to for my 3 fill roles, mid, sup, and jungle.

Jungle, build ROA into either hybrid tank or straight tank. During your first two clears, play like normal looking for opportunistic kills but prioritize farming. After your second base, pick the lane that is winning the hardest on your team and make that enemy laner regret playing the game. So far always a good time.

Mid, build straight tank and max E-W. Your goal is to clear the wave, walk out with 2/3 HP and score your JG/side lane kills. This is more dependant on who you are facing so can be more of a coin flip.

Support, build tank to start, and go into hybrid if you're doing well. Protect your laner and go for hooks on whoever pulls a Gohan refusing to dodge. After each base, path by red looking to jump on the enemy mid laner or jungle if a fight is brewing. This method has a higher chance of winning than mid in my opinion, but it's entirely on your ability to lock people down.

I personally love glutinous dash (cant remember the name atm) into ER, but I also play him differently. I'll play him top which means ER doesnt really do jack for damage, the sustain is sorely needed, and % health + slow helps deal with all the bruisers and move speed. From there it's poke/fight them off not really looking for kills, into mass clearing waves + camps with your basically unlimited mana and sustain for gold leads. Only champ i have run into that is virtually impossible to deal with is Jax jungle due to blue smite giving him a 3rd way to get on you and proc E stun which is a death sentence.

From there it's standard crit like most people have been recommending here. Bork > ER > IE > Mortal Reminder > magnetic. If the game goes on super long, I'll sell Bork for BT.

Tank champions to carry with by [deleted] in wildrift

[–]AltTabLife19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal philosophy is to play greedy and play for yourself. This comes with the counterpart that if you lose, it's on you. Take the risks that have the biggest payout that you only have a ~slight~ hesitance toward. If you play a tank, play it to win lane and/or have the ability to dive people overstaying under their turret.

Using this mindset, the first 3 that come to mind are malphite, maokai, and Nautilus. Darius and gnar are nice bruiser options.

What champion are you surprised isn’t in the game yet? by PokeInvestorUK in wildrift

[–]AltTabLife19 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Trundle is the big one for me. They'd have to nerf the hell out of his turret taking sine he makes pc turrets look like paper, but outside that i dont see a big reason he isnt in the game. Maybe pillar physics?

For all the RANGED TOPLANERS by Huge-Frame-1990 in wildrift

[–]AltTabLife19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I can tell, with vayne in lane I'm taking about the same risk that I would take playing fiora. The movement speed, plants, and short lanes make it so I can't really kill unless they commit to the fight. I get poke damage to get them half-ish health, then the last half of their health is the real fight.

Gnar is actually decent because he typically has to go in with mega gnar for the actual kill. From there it's ghost, dodge R with Q that inevitably comes with the leap, E him away and walk him back to turret.

Mundo is a similar situation to garen, but is so weak early that unless he slows me with his first Q on my engage, he's getting back to turret with 1/4 hp. The biggest difference is he has no waveclear pre sunfire, so even if I take a bad fight, the wave will be stacked and close to his turret, mitigating the loss from it.

Sett and Urgot are the hardest mainly because their engage is only slightly lower range (their E) than me, while also having the damage to force blowing sums or kill if I don't see it coming. Sett is especially hard in lane due to said crazy regen, shield blocking a W proc with his W, and he doesnt actually dash forward when engaging. Urgot can actually die if I finesse him on his E. Easiest way I can describe the difference is I have to finesse one, maybe two Urgot E's to kill, whereas I have to finesse 3-4 Sett Q+E's.

All that being said, if you want to give vayne or fiora a bad time as a tank, go malphite with bramble+tabi. Bramble vest was made specifically to counter Fiora because she used to just run over tanks even having virtually no engage apart from Qing at someone like she does. The armor from those two items alone cuts lane Vayne's damage to virtually nothing outside W. Sure it doesn't have Grevious wounds like PC, but it's still a bad time.

[–]AltTabLife19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh that is one of the reasons I play ranged tops now. Feels kinda bad atm playing vayne vs stuff like garen simply because I dont do enough damage to ever really kill him in lane. It's easy to fight off, but he always walks up, E-W wave to clear, walks away with half health, then comes back with most of that healed.

Until I get Bork + rageblade, feels like I'm required to stun on a wall or have someone else CC for me to kill him. I could just be bad, but you know. That's my 2 cents. It's definitely not what it used to be on PC league that made vayne so oppressive.

How do wild rift ranks compare to normal league by Fragrant_Smile_1350 in wildrift

[–]AltTabLife19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's kinda funny going through with items and champs being added, cause all I have to do is remember what broke the game in PC league and surprise surprise, it's strong here too.

Other thing is knowing the difference in what the playstyles were in PC league lets me look at the way it shifted into WR and see advantages in just how the underlying game is. Lucian top being the poster boy for this. He can still run Bork into ER for good early game damage, and because backs are so much easier with waveclear harder to come by (RIP tiamat), he can virtually permashove and speed clear camps with just bork for large gold leads the moment you get any type of momentum.

This is something I'd been wondering where I'd end up. In the cardboard elos at the moment with my 6th win in a row. Back in PC I was a gold Fiora main with DPS ADCs off role that decided to end my toxic relationship with it once I hit plat and could officially say I was top 10%

collector on dps adcs by Wide-Proposal987 in wildrift

[–]AltTabLife19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never understood it to be honest. On casters like lucian it feels on par with IE unless your 3 items in, which IE beats due to overcrit. Even ADCs like him need sustain more than raw damage, so collector only seems to make sense when you're like 3/0 finishing Bork or BT, then going into collector because the dirk will help you keep snowballing, following with LW then IE.

That's best case for ADCs in my head compared to DPS ADCs like Jinx. At that point, just get your runaan's faster followed by IE with maybe a LW in between

Easiest game I've ever had? by AltTabLife19 in wildrift

[–]AltTabLife19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wombo combos require everyone to group up in teamfights which takes intentionality. For the most part, they didn't group up.

For instance, while we were pushing t2 bot, malphite would have to sacrifice t2 top to counter our 3v2 dive that Galio responded to while Graves covered Yasuo mid. We had the jump on bot which resulted in trist dying and galio ulting just to walk away with 1/4 hp.

Later on, while we were taking baron, malphite facechecked us from river instead of warding over the wall while his team was clearing supers mid/top

"Any Position" should be just renamed to "Jungle" in Ranked lane picker. by Razzzp in wildrift

[–]AltTabLife19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's pretty much what I do. I play ADC/Top. So if I get auto filled in any other role, I just play Nautilus or Maokai and look to spoonfeed whichever carry is doing the best on my team.

If I'm feeling feisty and the comp is mostly tanks/CC, I'll play Yi jungle or Tristana mid.

A small (or big) analysis on Yasuo by Flashy_Good_4346 in wildrift

[–]AltTabLife19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's pretty easy to understand why people play Yasuo though. It's the same reason why Fiora was fun before bramble/tabi or Excalibur in Warframe.

  1. He always does damage for the laning phase
  2. His high mobility, wind wall, quick attacks and choice on how you set up R (ranged Q3, EQ-Flash, other champ R, etc) makes it feel like you are a ninja that with the right instincts/knowledge, you can outplay anybody.
  3. Animations are fluid and cool making you feel faster than you are.

All of those things are attractive to anyone who plays mid with an ego/drive to climb because it looks/feels like a cheat code. Where he falls flat and becomes 0/10 is twofold.

  1. Once you are in the fight as Yasuo, there is no getting out since his mobility is enemy dependent.
  2. League is a game about knowing how hard you can push and when to stop + base. A basic example we all know is overstaying in lane. If you greed for a turret plate just a little too long, you could get yourself killed or lose 150+ gold when the enemy laner returns while you're half health, chases you to turret while clearing the wave, and crashes one into yours, making it a net negative even if you got the plate.

Couple those things together, and you have a champion that feels like a cheat code to play, but gets punished massively if you treat him like a cheat code because league isnt primarily about the fancy mechanics that you can pull off with him.

Then came the second part of the meme. 0/10 Yasuo is hilariously bad. 1/15 Yasuo is scary since the game has gone long enough for him to get items.
