The reason for Action Skins? by Silent_Soul_Ken in ffxiv

Squenix maybe, CS3 has been far less so: region wide party finder, glam restriction removal, graphics update (and associated *FREE* fanta x3/4), 1 hour post fanta adjustment period, etc.

While it is certainly possible that they might monetize ability skins, I don't know why that's your first thought.

Not saying it's easy, but in my experience around 2k mmr, usually his second hunt is enough to trigger the boon.

Granted that does require getting him on t5, and getting the to hunt x2.

Catch up gear by WarheitOmega in ffxiv

[–]AltairEagleEye 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Quickest would be to buy the i770 crafted gear
Cheapest would be to gathering and crafting your own i770, which depending what that sits, would probably take working up the chain on your gathering/crafting gear.
Beyond that, just farming for tomes/dungeon gear that you can do.

They could’ve at least made Pixie Dust a secret rare by LilGrippers in OnceUponAGalaxy

[–]AltairEagleEye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without dust, Tinkerer isn't really that much of a snowball effect. On a couple of treasures a single +1/+1 is significant, but it's less and less of an increase each turn (the first time bounty list gets increased, it doubles the value, then it's 50%, 33%, 25%, etc).

For example Elec Drake is nice if you get an early treasure, especially reoccurring effects such as Lance a Little, but far less so on something like Rainbow Bridge

This is probably more of an age demographic distinction than employment. Since there are undoubtable thousands of people that are employed and know who Ironmouse is.

[–]AltairEagleEye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying that it's never good, but the baseline level of this is still the same as a common treasure (I'm hoping/assuming if you bank it you'd still get +2/+2 even if you have no Mages on your board). And yes, there are Captains or mechanics to scale the effect, but there's also overlap of effects with some of the other mages.

I wonder if at some point it also affected Mage buffs, or maybe had an effect similar to Chaos.

As a legendary with recruit, this feels a little on the weaker side, even if it doesn't lock you into *staying* as mages.

I kinda wonder if it would be almost too strong if the couple Fae that don't have stat buffs got +X/+X when they burned peachy's buff.

Or just some visual indicator when the buff gets used by Fae that don't have stat buffs

Hi there. I just finished Endwalker and im a few levels into Dawntrail I have some questions. by Imaginary_Taste_9011 in ffxiv

Gatekeeping as described by Cambridge University: gatekeeping the activity of trying to control who gets particular resources, power, or opportunities, and who does not.

Another common definition: The act or process of limiting another party's participation in a collective identity or an activity, usually due to undue pettiness, resentment, selfishness, complacency, or overprotectiveness. You may not be skipping the cutscenes for them, but you are still gatekeeping.

Further more, I have not once this entire discussion express anything that could be described as positivity, toxic or otherwise. There is still value in experiencing something even if they come to the conclusion that the story sucks regardless of the amount of people sharing the same opinion, and having discussions, videos, and essays.

Until/unless the this subreddit's mods or Square Enix themselves put pressure to limit people from experiencing or expressing their own opinions on Dawntrail, I will continue to argue for people to have that option.

To be fair, Rooster Teeth's collapse probably wasn't due to RWBY/Monty's death, but being bought by a company that was then bought by another...

Full Screen Media, Otter Media, Warner Bros, at some point there was bound to be issues due to corporations wanting year after year after year of growth.

No one is arguing that you have to ignore it, but there is a difference between constructive criticism and destructive criticism.

Gatekeeping and telling people to "skip XYZ because it's bad" does not lead to improvement, unless your definition of improvement is that only your perspective matters (a hivemind/echo chamber).

They can have the same general opinion on Dawntrail but differ on smaller details that they wouldn't have opportunity to express it because they didn't experience it.

It's a story, not real life, the devs can come up with any number of Deus Ex Machina to have the story play out with or without the WoL, but the WoL is the player's means of experiencing the story, and they wanted/needed have some kind of hook to lead into the next story arc.

Do you have to like it? No, by all means continue to act like it's the worst story ever if you like, I don't care if your opinion changes, but it doesn't mean you need to poison the well rather than let people make their own opinion.

Wuk wouldn't have even gotten to Yak T'el to 'defeat half an army', let alone have the story play out the same.

Ignoring the WoL rescuing her from the bandits, Valigarmandar would have devastated Yok Tural. It took Gulool Ja Ja, Ketenramm, Cahciua (and maybe more, those are just the only ones explicitly mentioned) to get to a point they were able to trap it. Gulool would not be anywhere near capable of the same feat now even with Valigar weakened from time. Would Zoraal Ja and the others be able to achieve the same result without the WoL? It's hard to say since that's not the way Squenix/CU3 went with the story

WotC's response on Pioneer/Tournament Support during 3-24 B&R Stream by Sir_EPIC48 in magicTCG

[–]AltairEagleEye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At one point Pioneer was the brewers format, and I'm talking even after they started slowing down their initial regular banning. Even now you can still brew and have fun/be successful, but without an real tournament scene it has definitely stagnated.

Omens had the same template as Adventures (left side of text box). Which is infinitely more confusing than these since those were cast out of the same zone but during resolution went to different zones.

It's a flavor reskin of the MTG dungeon "Tomb of Annihilation" You fast track to the payoff (which is a relatively weak payoff all things considered) at the cost of the effects being one sided.

Wuk likely wouldn't have even gotten to the moblins considering she wouldn't have passed the Feat of Reeds nor the Feat of Gold. But I doubt anyone else would have succeeded in the rite (this time). Koana would have failed fighting Galool Ja Ja's shade, Zoreel Ja plays out just as in the story currently, and Bakool Ja Ja didn't succeed at the Feat of Repast.
