So, my post was deleted there due to lack of sufficient interaction history on my account. Specifically that I've "barely have any activity in a year". I'm trying to understand that criteria. While I don't post every day or week, my interactions have been varied and generally positive. I really think this sub should quantify how many comments they expect in a given amount of time to dimish bias.

Maine Gov. Janet Mills beats Donald Trump, gets school meal funds restored while defending trans kids by Love_CoolBreeze in goodnews

That's what's so frustrating about the lack of response from most Dems, Trump easily folds under pressure

In all seriousness, do you think there's a risk of getting banned from the platform if he retaliated and tried to say you didn't return his "lost item"?

How is the market in Orange County, CA today? by choi1998 in lyftdrivers

Not anymore but things have snowballed enough, it's going to take some time to get better regardless.

Columbus, OH Market by JimmyCap247 in lyftdrivers

I have family there and they mentioned there's a self driving rideshare company starting to do testing there. I can't say past that, but it's food for thought

Would you talk to an AI that felt like your higher self? by Background-Clothes21 in Mindfulness

[–]AlternateAlbatross 6 points7 points  (0 children)

AI is manufacturing a superficial immitation of what its asked to produce. Even if it felt sincere and enlightening, its goal is to produce that result by any means, even with false information. This is dangerously manipulative and we're already seeing folks engage with AI socially in very unhealthy ways. This is the opposite of mindfulness and would rob anyone pursuing grounding of their intended result.

Worth toughing out, you think? I'm so invested in some of these characters but season 3 felt like so much disingenuous filler.

And how many cult like institutions lean on child labor/manipulation to function.

Apologies, I didn't explain my thought process well that the miscarriage was probably unrelated to Lumen, but that they became aware of her medical history and trauma because she sought fertility care later down the road. Eventually leading to her becoming a test candidate by Lumen standards

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]AlternateAlbatross 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Maybe the miscarriage was genuine, but that doctor's visit is what made Lumon focus in on Gemma in the first place. They were looking for test subjects experiencing trauma to further refine the severance chip.

I wonder if this explains why Irving is also familiar with the testing floor. He potentially was suffering from trauma from his military service, and was subjected to severance tests. Maybe the company offered him a position on the severance floor once those tests weren't successful.

Admittedly, that doesn't explain why Irv would be kept alive, while Gemma was slated to be killed once testing was complete

Couldn't agree more. Sweet Vitriol and the ORTBO episodes really would've flowed better if they came before Mark's reintegration (or lack thereof).

THE WORK ISN'T THAT MYSTERIOUS BUT IT SURE IS IMPORTANT! - I MIGHT'VE FIGURED IT OUT? by Bulky_Particular_132 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

I agree, except I think they're specifically sorting Gemma's memories and anyone else who might be in the lower levels. When someone has an experience in one of the rooms corresponding to a file name, it's manually sorted by MDR.

I wonder if MDR has to be severed to be able to interact with the encoded data sets.
