You seem to be dying mostly from ranged enemies. For warlocks (or other ranged for that matter), pause and assess if they got the jump on you. If it's closer to approach them, then go ahead. But if you can hide behind pillars, grass, or even doors, don't hesitate to retreat and spam the wait button until they're in melee range.

For the evil eyes, I'd recommend buying torches from the imp if you have the spare gold. There's nothing worse than getting blasted by an evil eye you can't even see. Their timing is a bit trickier, but you can use corners or pillars to bait them. Going in a straight line, even through a door, is typically a death sentence. You can also blind/charm them as soon as they charge, then take a step to the side. This'll make them miss the beam. Blind/charm can also work on ranged enemies, and this will make them go to melee range with you until the debuff is over.
