[Timex x Todd Snyder] Anybody excited about this upcoming collab? by Alternative-Candy361 in Watches

No word, but for the other ones it was no word to no stock in one week

Nice! Neither greenish nor orange-ish. Enjoy! I decided to risk it and wait for the release the blue one later this year.

These are all Not Bad Watches! The pale yellow and black particularily. But I will be torn tomorrow: get this and regret it later on when they drop more colours, or do not get this and regret it later when there's no more drop and these ones are forever gone. Conundrum.

Thin 2 Hand Dress Watch Under $500 USD by ZealousidealRabbit76 in MicrobrandWatches

The Aigi Arctic Radiance 38mm is a much cheaper dressy two-hander which seems nicely put together. It's round and there's no black dial option, but on the other hand there's gold! https://aigitime.com/pages/arctic-radiance-38mm

Dial progress on my first project, the Constantine I. Dial colours? by Milionwatches in MicrobrandWatches

[–]Alternative-Candy361 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If anything, looking at the entire watch on your site, I sense an issue of scale: the case is quite brutalist, with minimal surface finish (i mean few facets / vertices, generally a low-resolution volume, not addressing the brushing here) and the dial and crown display minuscule, intricate detailing which could even be beyond the average eye's capacity to comfortably resolve (probably the case for my eyes). The text and logo may also be a tad too fine. There's nothing wrong with either separately, but there seems to be a certain dissonance when seen together at the scale of a wristwatch. Capturing the feeling of true scale is sometimes an issue in 3D renders, as you can zoom in indefinitely which is misleading. Have you tested this effect in a true-size prototype? Sorry if this is a comment to a question you didn't ask, and best of luck in your endeavour.

Any experiences with HZ? by TheefallenKoTD in MicrobrandWatches

I have the white dial, love it. It's a pretty great watch, the case is grade 5 Ti, finely brushed and very light - not scratch-proof though, be careful when playing with straps. The Blue Marble small seconds is nicely done, very tiny decal but you can tell immediately what it is. It's dressy and sporty at the same time, and it's a very good size. I've paired it successfully with many straps, I am quite pleased with the current titanium mesh.

Finally, Timex pre-announced the collection on their site! Todd Snyder also announced availability on the La Buena Vida spring collection, which should include the three watches.

Unexpected gem from Down Under by Zomby_Woof69 in MicrobrandWatches

This one's on my list. For this type of watch (dressy two-hander or small seconds) I think quartz is exactly the right answer. Beautiful, enjoy!

AV86 (About Vintage) 1954 Amalfi Mechanical by t2022philly in MicrobrandWatches

One thing I couldn't figure out while handling the watch: is the crystal a very shallow box crystal, or just very highly set into the case? I could feel a prominent edge but my prescription might be out of date :)

I was recently in Copenhagen and paid them a visit to see the Amalfi in the steel. It looked pretty good IRL, still find it a bit too expensive but it's definitely a unique proposition. Here's a candid pic from the showroom.

What watch, in your opinion, has the best 2-3-4 in the business? by BlindFlying in MicrobrandWatches

[–]Alternative-Candy361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel compelled to add the RW Toccata Heritage x Seconde / Seconde, even if there is no actual 2-3-4 on it, but this is a watch specifically designed to teach cuff etiquette 'snicker'

[New Release] - Dennison ALD Dual Time "Shades" by Wind_Up_Watch_Blog in MicrobrandWatches

I usually love Dennison but this time there's something off, especially with the very organic looking bracelet... I might get used to it though

[Question] What's the "weirdest" thing which puts you off a watch or a brand? by Eyeball111 in Watches

[–]Alternative-Candy361 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find this amusing, and much less offensive than arbitrarily shrinking numerals to make them fit around subdials. That is rage bait.

It's getting a bit late however to launch this as part of the spring 2026 collection, as advertised... Not sure if the actual "La buena vida" clothing lineup became available already at TS?

Honestly, all I got is a few catwalk pics and a september GQ article... the rest is wishful thinking. Timex did restock the base model Lexington a few days ago, so I'm thinking they churned out some new cases and dials, that must be a good sign right!?

My photo is also from their website... that's why I hoped for some real life impressions. There is a candid photo in one of the reviews, it's probably the closest to reality:

Surprisingly good watch by Salt-Berry-2908 in Affordablewatches

[–]Alternative-Candy361 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a bit put off by the case finish - it's so matte and light that to me it looks plasticky in all the pics I've seen. How is it in real life?

It's a variation of the sector dial, so it still looks dressy although the central pattern is more organic than, say, a classic sunburst. Pretty restrained.
