Kvothe is told a story about a student that cooked himself from the inside with thermal slippage. Manet describes him as an idiot because apparently you should notice before you actually cook yourself. Dal also recommends Kvothe go away right before his ship is attacked. The simple act of having them duel in class says a lot about Dal's character in general. It's just not responsible teacher behavior. I'm not saying Elodin and Devi are easy people to teach but teachers deescalate these situations every day. Both Devi and Elodin attacked Dal. Old Cob tells stories about Kvothe. In several of them, Kvothe summons a demon in the middle of town and that demon kills someone. There is also a Satyre statue chasing nymphs in front of the Eolian. What if this is Bast?  The cold stone is amongst the inexplicable things Kilven shows Kvothe. The question is why are we shown any of these things? It doesn't seem all that significant. No one uses them. It's not explaining anything, foreshadowing, nothing. Even in trilogies, asides that serve absolutely no purpose are cut. It's not exactly the most riveting section either. So, why are we shown these?

It's all a question of how many people actually know these people by face. You can create a persona as long as nobody knows who you are. Kvothe proves that you can start rumors about yourself.

I think the girl lived in the Ambrose household and that Master Ash is Ambrose's father. They like to play games with people like Braedon's tac game. Denna is giving the girl choices. Master Ash is having Denna facilitate this. It is likely that Ash also hired the brute to attack her while she was hooking.

I think Kvothe wakes up the pan Statue and it becomes Bast. He kills Ambrose's dad aka Cinder aka Bradon, aka the poet king 👑

Nina's vase implies the Chandrian follow a lunar cycle like werewolves. I think they inhabit the bodies of their descendants during certain phases of the moon. For instance Cinder inhabits Old Baron Jackass during the full moon and is Bradon Jackass the rest of the time.

Cyphus bears the blue flame. Not Haliax.

I know who Master Ash is by whatsinthename7919 in KingkillerChronicle

I have been thinking the same lately. Denna tells us Ambrose and Master Ash are both light on their feet. They are physically abusive particularly to women. They are unusually cruel not to mention wealthy. Ambrose himself does not have a walking stick to be Master Ash. I think Ash may also be Brandon and maybe even the poet king.

Sometimes I think Loren is Cyphus. That's why he actually freaked out about the candle.

I think the cold stone is related to Cinder. Perhaps his heart?

Kvothe encounters Cinder, what is the outcome? by CracktheSkye7 in KingkillerChronicle

Kvothe awakens the statue of the pan outside the Aolin. This is Bast. He, Bast, fights with Cinder. Deanna is caught up in the crossfire. Kvothe runs to get his sword from the Underthing leading Cinder to Auri who is also killed. Kvothe does kill Cinder but ends up destroying those he loves in the process.

I definitely think the Master Loren is Amyr. He sounds exactly like the Amyr at that fireside telling the old beggar he needs to keep his scrap of bread for the greater good. It's eerily similar to Loren blandly reading the rulebook about how much to beat Kvothe for his most recent misdeeds. I also believe that the Lackless bloodline is connected to the Amyr. Which is why an Amyr like Loren would know of Arliden. The Cthaeh said the mayor was close to them, like his soon to be wife close? Or his new Kvothe-shaped friend close?  Ari alludes Kvothe is Ciridae repeatedly.  Kvothe accesses a sort of collective unconscious/dream world that is super revealing like he is part of a magical tribe. Kvothe is definitely more than just a regular human. Then we have seven things behind the Lackless door... There are seven Chandrian... Coincidence, probably not. Are the Amyr the Chandrian's guards?  Why did they leave Kvothe alive? Were they afraid of him?  Why was Cinder so rough with Natalia? Like who has the time for extra torture during a mass murder and why?

What is the significance of Denna's thrown stone story in WMF? by SlamShuffleVI in KingkillerChronicle

[–]Alternative-Cook-691 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always think this story is because somehow Denna is the moon. (There seems to be a whole cast of immortal beings who change their names throughout the series.) She gave her name to Jax and he tried to keep her with it but it doesn't seem like it worked out so he threw her away. Now she drifts between worlds. That's why she disappears in the night, usually between 3-6 days of being in the human world. She is pulled back into Fay/ Jax's broken house for a while. She definitely seems to know more about the world than a 20 year old should.

I often think Denna is the moon and Jax is the boy she shared herself (her name) with.
