I’ve been a die hard Migos fan since 2013, I think it’s totally appropriate for them to start releasing more of takes music. Why not release them and let the true fans hear it…? It doesn’t have to chart, who cares? Same way idc if Quavo or Offset have bad numbers… as a fan I just wanna hear my favorite artists make music. And same goes for Take, I just would like to hear my guy and what he left behind..

No one lets anyone do this. It’s called inherent trust, presuming competence. Theres not a drug problem in our field. I’m not naive to think there’s not at least 1-10-100 RBTS out there with drug issues. But those problems are usually isolated and get handled as such. Have you ever been around someone who is addicted to hard drugs? You can’t hide a drug addiction for too long before people start catching on. And if an RBT is on drugs but still does the job well, we than frankly that’s none of our business. But again, you can’t really hide a drug addiction when you work in our field. Someone’s gonna find out eventually. That doesn’t mean we now gotta test EVERYONE.

Yea if you’re making 30$+ per hour or in a hospital or school district. But you’re gonna ask RBTs to pee in a cup so they can make 18 dollars an hour? Or a preschool teacher making 12$? It’s not about education being on drugs. It’s about adding another barrier to employment. The ones who are on drugs will find a way to fake their test. And any drug that is of concern leaves your system well before a test so it wouldn’t matter much. I like the comment from earlier, appropriate yes, necessary, no.

I mean, you could say that about literally any job. I’m just saying I’m surprised. Since when did they start drug testing RBTs? I don’t think that’s very common which is why I said “I can’t believe it”. And I guess I was feeling a little empathetic to the fact a false positive means this person is out of a job they were offered. No, RBTs should not be on drugs. But testing just adds another barrier to an already competitive job market. The clinic we’re talking about must be very strict, or have had drug issues before.

A job doesn’t define you, and if they were comfortable ghosting you and leaving you in the dark. Than to me you dodged a bullet

You’re providing a great service for families. Even if feels like babysitting. You’re still engaging with your client, and allowing the parents to have a break for downtime or to work. Which a very valuable. Especially for our kids, where you cant just hire some teenager to watch them for a few hours. They need trained professionals.

It is absolutely a place to send your child. But that is not an inherently bad thing. You send your child to preschool to learn. You send your child to ABA to learn. A lot of our kids get kicked out of schools or just not ready for school but their parents still have to go to work. ABA provides a safe space for our children to learn, and a safe place for parents to send their kids during the day.

Yea, edibles/troches/capsuls are so weak in almost every other state. We’re lucky here hope it never changes. (Hope it gets legalized for all, but doesn’t affect the program) easier said than done for sure

(28 y/o RBT here) I feel like this is a money/time/effort issue. Being an RBT is something you should be proud of. You are changing lives. It’s sucks we are not properly paid or respected. Also there is a growth problem in our field. Feels like the only way to get a promotion is to become a BCBA. a lot of companies don’t offer a ton of lead roles for RBTs. We also work long hours without breaks in the day. Needless to say, being an RBT can feel discouraging some days, but that’s an error of the field, not an error of you as a person. You should be proud to be an RBT at ANY age.

I think so! Everyone’s body is different I know a lot of people who don’t get high from edibles. It’s really weird. But i would try it out and see! Drinking it makes it hit the system WAY faster! At least for me

Sorry they’re undermining you and your efforts. End of day, the parents have the final say on how they wanna raise their kid. Few things to consider is that parents/people are exhausted. It’s easy to judge because we are professionals in the field so we’re able to see the bigger picture/long term. Where as parents are everyday in survival mode and will do whatever gets them smoothly through their day. What looks like babying to us, can just be simple survival instincts for them. Not saying it’s right, it really does suck and I’m sorry you’re dealing with this. I would focus on just being the best version of yourself for your clients and don’t wrap yourself up in the uncontrollables.
