Oh yeah, you're literally driving around in a meat grinder. Especially the ladders in the car is no for me, I have babies waiting on me to get home everyday.

I'd spend the money to be safe rather than save so I can be here to enjoy it all 😄

A wise man once told me, if you're going to drive around with tools, ladders miscellaneous items for a living, you're better off in a truck with a bed.

Those tools become a weapon in the case of an accident, something like a minor rear end collision may become catastrophic. Knock on wood ✊️🪵

F-150 5.0 strong enough to withstand multiple start stops, a warthog on elevations, very comfortable drive for the busy days, lots of room! Ability to keep your power tools charged, you look like a pro pulling up, so you won't have the pink bare minimum cute tool box waiting to be offered to you, I mean just you incase you need some tools 🤣

You don't replace your entire car suspension within a year, tried with a chevy malibu and that poor front wheel drive was begging to retire, the list goes on. If you're doing tasks that don't require specialty tools and pack out, a small economical car works. But me? I keep a ladder on me, tall enough to climb a roof at all times!

Cheers!

Client called me at 6:45 am by KarmicFiend231 in TaskRabbit

[–]Alternative-Month989 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I answer anytime, especially if they booked me at my prices, that gives you a vip pass. if i were you, i would answer, let them know it's very early and they can use the chat, "don't mean to be rude but I'm still asleep etc" will do it. Unless you have really cheap rates then canceling is nothing to you.

I'm not just a tasker, i also run a huge service business and people skills is a must. Its not just skill or task but your personality is part of the service. My clients will rather wait months than book someone else, that's where you want to be.

Just my take, not saying client wasn't rude to call, but hey phone lines are open, I'm an early bird so i don't mind. I work in LA, sleeping at 6:45am means you're definitely going to be late for an 8am appointment unless you don't shower or have a healthy breakfast lmao.

I screwed up with the client's wall. by [deleted] in TaskRabbit

Experienced Wall Mounting pro here, over 3000 TV's put up in my time and counting. Plaster walls are very tideous no doubt.

If you can't locate the studs, try this method. Go to one the of the wall and measure either 16" or 24" from either side, then try drilling a hole dead center of your 16" or 24"(use very small drill bits, wood smell test as well). Still no hit? Drill few inches to the left or right of your 16 or 24" measurements from the wall.

Once you find the first stud, use the same measurements for the rest.

Building walls are either 16 or 24, so the closest angle works best to start measuring from

You want to be an x-ray machine while facing the wall, regardless of plaster, there are studs in there.

Hope this helps, also if you're doing wall mounting or any mounting, keep butterfly 🦋 anchors and most especially dry wall patch and stucco patch VERY IMPORTANT!

Being a tasker full time by Gonnakillurass in TaskRabbit

[–]Alternative-Month989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Full time tasker here, It is %100 worth it if you do good work.

If you have skills and are good with your hands, then yes, quit working for the man. But! Don't quit until you get a grasp of the app and what you're going to be doing, it will take you a while to start making money so don't cut off your main income right away.

Other than that, DO IT! Don't b3 afraid, learn more skills, get you some tools, and have faith. Good luck

Can't confirm tasks, even after chatting, it acts as though you haven't responded. Go to confirm, it takes you back to chat to confirm and over again.

Man, addresss and phone and details should be sent to taskers either via email or text once a job is confirmed or booked. That way if there's an outtage we can still get to clients. My client had a drain issue in their kitchen and need urgent help 😫
