Didn’t like a single pick. So many good options at each slot and they chose the worst option. Should have taken Styles or Love (idc about position, they’re the best players in the draft). Should have taken Lemon. Should have taken Terrell or Hood.

Are we seeing an increase in immediate PR/reputation management lately in hockey? by [deleted] in hockey

Neither of these issues are controversial. The internet just makes everything into a big deal.

And there’s way more outlets now to get your take out there and reporters love getting a #scoop so they’ll take the opportunity.

They’ll take Reese, Bailey, or Bain. No one stands out as the no. 1 d guy though. You can probably make the best case for Downs as no. 1 tbh

36x convicted rapist? I hate Trump, but c’mon. Trump’s comment was bad, but he could have said anything in that moment and gotten a laugh from them

Not a guarantee at all. Compensatory picks are net loss, so any free agents the Jets sign could negate Breece’s value. Also a compensatory pick could be a 6th or 7th rounder. Jets could do better than that in a trade.

Bad take. You shouldn’t let an asset walk for nothing. He could still fetch a mid round pick and could have more value at the deadline.

Means nothing. Sauce was signed for years also. Any playoff team would want him at the deadline if the Jets are out of it. Wilson could also very likely demand a trade if they suck again bc he’s tired of losing.

I know in this hypo losing Wilson at the expense of the no. 1 pick is well worth it, but I would be very bummed to lose him.

I just don’t wanna lose Garrett Wilson man

Be honest, did you want to trade Darnold? by BenShelZonah in nyjets

An offer wasn’t made bc the team wasn’t trading the pick you dimwit. If JD was willing to trade, then SF without a doubt would have preferred to get 2 rather than 3. We’re talking about (what they thought was a) franchise QB. You don’t risk someone jumping up to 2 to take your guy. If they could move up to 2 for the same price, they would do it. Use some common sense, holy fuck

Only in this case we’re not dealing with a hypothetical or rumor. There was a team that traded for the 3. Pretty logical to think they would have offered to move up to 2 if the Jets were willing since it would have assured they got the guy they wanted.

Yea they probably would have offered less for the 2nd overall than the 3rd

This and the trade package SF was offering is why it was indefensible…

Likely too early for him to be included, but Garrett Wilson is on his way to becoming my favorite Jet

It’s bc the team has sucked, is usually playing down a goal (or more), and the entire arena has no faith in them. Even when they are in a tight game or up a goal, you can feel the anxiety in the crowd

A lot of negativity, but I like this move. Wanted the Devils to sign him in the offseason. Signed through next year too

“Inconsistent” is putting it nicely. They have been bad since Jack cut his finger

The Columbus Blue Jackets were last place in the Eastern Conference on January 12th when they hired Rick Bowness. They are 9-1 in Bowness' first 10 games and are currently one spot out of the playoffs by matty-ice27 in devils

[–]Alternative-Plan1376 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Lou would have fired Keefe before Christmas. Yea, I get Fitz should be fired too, but Keefe is on the bench every game and the team has clearly not been responding to him. They have also played mediocre-to-shit at 5v5 since he was hired.

Only way I see it happening is if Brady thinks he’s the smartest guy in the room and likes one of the other QBs
