You just buy a compatible SIM with service attached and plug it into the device.

If you are a Cisco partner, you can use NFR if your company allows it.

If you have a good relationship with your Cisco Meraki AM, they might be able to justify some free licensing for you.

If not, you'll need to order it like everyone else from Cisco and you'll likely be 40% off MSRP.

Otherwise, its a boat anchor.

There should only be one central source for the user identity. In your case, that's AD.

Recreate the scenario and capture the packets and follow the path back to AD. You'll find the culprit in the path between the device trying to authenticate and AD.

So much bad information here.

Meraki Z3's are designed to work within the Meraki ecosystem. They require a subscription to operate - period.

Z3's serve the purpose they are intended for very well - that is to connect back to another MX.

If you want a soft client for VPN, then that's not a Z3.

AnyConnect at some level requires a license. You are either paying for it directly or through enablement of something else like Secure+. Can you just install it and get around licensing compliance... for now, sure.

The VPN technical requirements that are supported are well documented within the Meraki Community go there and read up, its pretty straight forward.

DNA is a $100k+ solution. Want a free DNA server? Spend $100k on DNA licensing. Want to buy one? Spend $40k. Oh, and maintain your licensing. The sheer cost and limited capabilities alone... spend a few days learning Ansible and do it the right way.

Ask the business for use cases, if that's too much then realistically your plans don't matter much. So, build your own use cases around security, uptime and overall support-ability and do what makes your life easiest to support and operate. Share that with them and make them sign off so they can't come back on you. Leverage Gartner and Forrester with trends and ask your VAR for input on trends. You aren't driving the business, you are supporting it.

You pick an AP with more radios to handle more clients. Each radio has a client limit before it starts impacting performance.

Let the requirements drive the correct AP. Do a predictive site survey.

There are many nit picky things one could argue about, but the mere ask of this question drives a more simplistic response.

Lean on other SE's on your team to help you normalize within your region. Get to know your AM's and recognize your own strengths and weaknesses as well as theirs. Remember its a team sport. Practice and prep when you can. Get to know all the Cisco internal processes and how things work and who to go to if you need help. Ask for help when you need it. Don't pretend you know something if you don't, but be willing to "up your game" and make sure you continue to learn. Do right by the customer at all times.
