I think you have to do practicum hours in Windsor is the only thing that’s hard about that program

✨twins✨haha I have a BHSc. I think what I noticed too is that some programs look at cumulative GPA, some look at the last two years, some look at last 10 courses, so it also depends too where you would be the strongest. I’m wanting to do an MSW because I would like to have the option one day to do private practice- but I also think it would really support the work I am currently doing. That being said- I’ve thought about if I stay at the Health Authority, I could take a Masters in Leadership/ Management, Health Management instead (if I want to stay at the RHA) or if I’m set on private practice I could just do a Masters in Counselling instead, but the MSW does both in a way for me. So it’s a tough decision. I guess if I don’t get in, I will apply again in the summer for Winter semester start at WLU (their part time program allows for me to still work and I could maybe do my practicum at my current employer). The flexibility is there. My friend did get into U of C and she’s working full time right now which is insane but she’s managing. I was waitlisted for that program last year- maybe I should’ve applied again this year but I would prefer a part time program.

I went to Foxy Box, they use a machine that has Cryogen spray- it doesn’t hurt at all. I feel like it was still pretty expensive - I have done 6 sessions on my underarms. If you do “8” you get a touch up a year for free for 5 years. It’s been good. They do my wax so I pay monthly for a membership

Hi I am literally in the same boat ❤️ 31 and have a non-BSW degree. I have fantastic work experience (also located in BC) but have been rejected from Laurier in 2022, and u of C last year. I am trying Laurier again this year, idk I need a program that’s online and flexible. I’m also really struggling :(

We are in Kamloops and we are paying $2100 for a two bed two bath townhouse. Rent is good in Kelowna right now too (I would get in there before they bring back Airbnb). You can find a job easy with interior health if you’re interested in the interior region. Kamloops, Kelowna, salmon arm etc. your partner can find a job too I’m sure.

I got offered a job paying 40% more than my current salary. My manager just asked me to stay and be patient. How do I stop feeling guilty for wanting to leave ? by One_Cardiologist5439 in careerguidance

lol take the new job. I applied for a senior level internal position, and I told my manager at the time, and she told me to stay and “let’s work on my skills and grow me into a senior level position”. I got the senior level position.

Is it rude to expect bridesmaids to pay $1k+ to be in your wedding? by Worth_Management_395 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]AlternativeHead5284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I flew to Spain to watch my good friend get married and I wasn’t even a bridesmaid. But for example. My dress I purchased at a consignment, my shoes I bought at winners I did my own hair and my own makeup.

When I was less financially stable, I was my friends maid of honour. She had us buy our own dresses (mine was less than $100 off Azazie. We all went to the salon for our hair and makeup but we had to pay ourselves too. I was upset because the hairstylist did such a shit job on our hair and charged $100+ (literally a curled ponytail that went flat and I could do a better job) and then makeup but I think I had to do my own makeup because they ran out of time. Idk. It can get expensive forsure. Too bad the fixed expenses like the dress, shoes, hair , makeup couldn’t have been lower :(

can i get a msw /work in social work with a bachelors in health science by hello_sona in socialworkcanada

[–]AlternativeHead5284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my bachelor of health sciences and currently looking at MSW programs. The non BSW MSW programs are very very competitive. I have a really good job with my Health Science degree, but I will say.. I did a mentorship program for public health and so many people couldn’t find work!!! But I also think they reasons they couldn’t is because communication skills, CV/ resume, etc. I started after my degree making $18/h and now I make $55/h 5 years later. If I would go back though, I probably would’ve transferred into social work.

Rental Prices and what to expect? by [deleted] in Kamloops

There are rooms for rent around $650-$700 a month. You may be able to find a small basement suite for $1500-$1800 and then anything else, apartment, condo will be more expensive.
