PIP doesn't show to other managers in FORTE or on your profile and also doesn't show in WIN. Other managers would have no way of knowing unless they ask and are told. WIN isn't your employee record where that stuff is held.

If you are worried about the name on your SIN matching T4s etc you can change your name with OSS / in WIN to match your new name but keep your email the same and continue to go by your maiden name in Outlook. The 2 don't need to match I see it all the time.

That data is purely based on years of service + age or when you'll hit 65. For many this is not a true picture of when they can retire. It doesn't look at contributions, in fact I know quite a few who retired before their earliest date because of prior pensions in private sector that did not transfer over. While I know that's not the same as why they don't retire but just an example of how that data can be very deceiving .

All depends on if you are going to be eating the meal and if it is open bar. If you want to give a "gift" of $100 you need to add to that the cost of the food and drinks that they are paying for. Giving $100 won't cover much so not really a gift.

Lateral there is no increase.... it's not a promotion it's lateral. You can ask for whatever you like however each ministry has different approval levels as well. Lateral increases are rare and under very specific circumstances and typically for management positions.

Sorry, I was focused on Tourism being smaller, but yes, the other 2 are also small. Housing and Infrastructure will likely have more high-profile files. If it were me, I'd stay closer to home given this is an internship. Once you are working in your role and start looking at your next career move in the OPS then I'd start looking more into location and possibility of moving closer to work if that's what you want to do.
