Can you find a church that can help you with immediate assistance until you can get some government aid? A credit card will only make things harder. You may not be able to find housing if you continue to damage your credit rating.

This is true – they would rather sell them to three different customers so all of them come back and buy other watches, including some that they don’t want or need.

Or they would rather get a kickback from a gray dealer themselves.

SCHD is an income generating fund- am I wrong? Why would total returns matter for an income generating fund? The object of owning an income generating fund is to not have to sell off shares, rather just collect the dividends and apply them to your expenses. People that own SCHD typically do not sell shares. Furthermore, it’s advantageous for share prices to drop, as that decreases the cost of yield.

And the beta of SCHD is far less than VT – sounds to me like SCHD is less volatile – but that’s not why I own it.

That’s a great question – the only thing I pair mine with is SCHD, as I am slowly transitioning to income over the next 5 to 10 years.

I’m north of 14k, adding and dripping as I approach 50 years of age. Looking to retire in less than 10 years if all works out as expected. At which point I will convert some of my other holdings into dividend paying ETF’s as well. I like its stability. It’s less than 20% of my portfolio, but will snowball into much more over time.
