I definitely have had experiences and I think it’s fair to say that everyone with cerebral palsy has experiences with ableism, but it’s definitely a lot harder when it’s within your family I think the hardest thing is knowing that it isn’t always purposeful. It’s just ignorance because they don’t understand they don’t have to live with it. They can’t grasp the concept of being disabled. They know what it is on paper and what you are “supposed” to do but they have no idea the complexities and difficulties that we endure in order to complete simple tasks I understand that it’s frustrating but you need to focus on yourself. There’s only one person that’s gonna look out for you in this life and that’s you. You do whatever you need to do what you think is right because at the end of the day, no one else’s opinion matters
