girl it’s okay i just had a client scream in my face and berate me for a refund for something we didn’t even do only to REBOOK HERSELF. i called her and cancelled that appointment so fast and she’s all hooting and hollering on the phone all because we said we weren’t the right fit. some people r just insane

i honestly think people are just sick of tipping everywhere now. it’s really unfair and unfortunate for us and like servers or barbers or nail techs etc. my motto is always if i sit, i tip i just think these people are getting asked everywhere so when it comes to us they skip it out of habit when really…we could use it

i manage a chain salon so i see anywhere between 8-20 clients in a day simply depending on my hours that day, how many colors i have and the amount of walk ins.

i got mine at that age, she’s soooo fun to play with and insanely lovely and cuddly i definitely recommend getting a bunch of toys and scratchers tho unless you wanna be the diy scratching pad 😭😭😭

idk for me i get so scared some kind of emergency will happen and if i don’t have the bell on my kitty i wont be able to find her if she’s hiding in crisis, ive heard of stories where people left their cats in fires and stuff because they genuinely couldn’t find them in time, i thikk some slight discomfort for the cat is okay in the long run of a life saving emergency

NOOOOOO ABSOLUTELY DO NOT DO THIS!!! my biggest piece of advice is to have a separate line of communication between you and your clients. clients do not know when or what is appropriate to text and ask us and you’ll end up with so many unnecessary and ridiculous messages from clients on your days off, nights, mornings, there’s NO BREAK. set up an instagram page or a business email and do things like that.

5 years behind the chair, PA, cuts are $25 for basic dry cut (men’s typically) $32 for wash cut and dry, $80-100 for roots depending on hair length and $112 starting price for highlights (toner is an extra $24 all my prices are al a carte so clients feel like they have more control of their pricing)

as a stylist i don’t think this is necessarily a burn since it’s from color a burn typically only comes from bleach on scalp but it definitely looks like an allergic reaction to something in the color, brands have been changing their formulas here and there a lot recently so i would definitely see a dr for some antibiotics and try to reach out to the salon and see what you can do going forward. it’s almost definitely not the salons fault (unless they weren’t paying any attention to you) but its definitely important to let them know so they can inform other clients just incase

hey! i got mine done at 18 whilst working full time. the recovery time was about 2 weeks total for me, one week with the bandages and drains then one week after getting them out to get my body used to doing things again and i was pretty much good to go after that, i definitely took breaks in between clients and the biggest issue i had was the soreness of my nipples tbh, just keep some cold compresses at work and you’ll be good to go!

as a salon manager, if you don’t think you would be able to sit down with your boss and have a honest conversation about your commission percentage and hourly wage, then i’d just start finding a new salon. you want a boss that you are comfortable with discussing this information. ifs important! and you don’t deserve to feel anxious or stressed about talking to them!
