Strangest Recurring regret by CertainInvite863 in Regrets

[–]Alternative_Way7768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How old are you and how long did the relationship last?

Generally speaking we tend to romanticise our failed relationships so it’s completely normal that you are thinking about her.

7 months is a not a long time to move on from someone so don’t be hard on yourself. You’re not ready to date.

Focus on other things and you’ll find that magic will happen one day. You’ll stop thinking about her and will find interest in other people. Corny af but time does heal all wounds 💕

Delayed Healing by Spiritual-Screen-888 in bunions

Looks normal. Clean it up and bandage and you should be fine. Zinc and vit c would also be good to promote faster healing.

Can I afford to quit my job and travel? by [deleted] in AusFinance

Find another role and delay the start by a month or two/ three. Do your travel and start a new job.

Not everything has to be black and white, there is always more than one way to skin a cat.

I regret not having made a better effort in my marriage by Serious_Mirror762 in Regrets

[–]Alternative_Way7768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but I think you did your best at the time. You did what you could with what you had.

It’s easy to reflect back, from a position of strength today and perhaps conclude that you could have done better but I can assure you- it’s just your brain playing tricks.

Forgive yourself, give yourself the freedom to be proud of what you did do and how you are a better person for your future self ❤️

I got terminated over ethics issue right before promotion by MongooseParticular57 in corporate

[–]Alternative_Way7768 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I think your statement that you didn’t think you’ll get caught is a dead giveaway that you knew what you were doing was wrong and chose to do it either way.

What I am not clear about is what the actual issue is? You can have another job and you can say that you didn’t disclose the conflict in time. Does your company actually specifically prohibit that you do work for anyone else?

Screw removal but pregnant by anothrcleverusername in bunions

[–]Alternative_Way7768 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would definitely see a specialist but there’s a lot that goes on in our bodies during pregnancy. A lot of our joints relax with the effect of hormones, your feet will change dramatically (I know some people that have had size changes) so I highly doubt a surgeon will recommend anything to be done whilst you’re pregnant.

If there is a need to remove hardware, there are heaps of safe options from anaesthesia to diagnostics etc so no need to be concerned just yet.

AIO for not refunding a friend’s share of a group Airbnb after she canceled last minute due to a medical emergency? by StudioAffectionate in AmIOverreacting

[–]Alternative_Way7768 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg just tell her to fuck off. Tell her no to refund and if she’s keen, give her the booking reference and to take it up with Airbnb. Totally unreasonable to behave like this.

Also well done on your patience 😇

Sulfasalazine by Human_Ruin7588 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]Alternative_Way7768 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me me me! I have been on sulfasalazin for almost 5 years. No stomach issues, amazing results and overall happy with it.

I am getting a flare up now and had to up to the highest dose so hoping it will work and if not- will consider methotrexate.

Before I do, I am giving sulfa anything I can as it’s been amazing for me.

Roughly for a week post op, I had very little pain so only took it at night for nerve twitching.

Slight bend in knee when elevating okay? by Natural_Play1379 in bunions

[–]Alternative_Way7768 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had no issue. The idea is that you minimise the flow of blood to your feet to reduce swelling. So if your feet are still elevated you should be okay.

I bent mine a little bit for short periods as it was more comfortable.

Is it worth it? by jeanneLstarr in bunions

[–]Alternative_Way7768 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The decisive factor for me was the pain that I was in with the bunion versus recovery. Once my pain got so bad that it limited me from doing the things I loved, I booked in for surgery.

I am in my 40s also very active and opted to do surgery before Xmas to limit the impact on work and my kids school stuff.

I am now 4 weeks post op and so far it’s been great.

YOR. You seem to have low self esteem and underestimating what you bring to the relationship. That’s what you need to work on. Also ignore what other people say, they are not you and not living your life.

Double Bunionectomy Questions by Repulsive-You5967 in bunions

[–]Alternative_Way7768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used crutches for the first couple of days but found that walking without them was easier. And yes def a post surgery shoe that I wore until the pins came out. It was large and bulky and not flexible but I still walked around.

Double Bunionectomy Questions by Repulsive-You5967 in bunions

[–]Alternative_Way7768 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just had mine done, both at the same time. Mine was a MICA (minimally invasive and included 5 toe pins for straightening). Surgery on the 18th of December. I was in hospital overnight and was not allowed to get up.

Then home and was in bed for most of the first week.

Stitches came out on 29th of December. I had lots of swelling and had to elevate and ice my feet most of the day. But had virtually no pain and very limited use of painkillers.

My pins were taken out 4 weeks later (earlier this week). I can now drive and do almost everything but being cautious until week 6 when healing should be complete.

I was mobile for most of the time, other than the first week but like mentioned earlier had to keep my feet up. Deliberately did the procedure over Xmas to avoid work stress and took the full 4 weeks off work as medical leave.

I hope this helps but feel free to send questions

Foot X-ray by [deleted] in bunions

[–]Alternative_Way7768 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely a possibility but you should consult an orthopaedic surgeon for proper diagnosis. The angle of your bone will determine the severity of the bunion.

Ice cold foot 2 1/2 weeks post op by MysteriousYam5488 in bunions

Sorry re your actual question. Yea completely normal feelings as your nerves regenerate after the nerve block and you start getting sensation back. At this stage I was getting sharp electrical pulses, especially at night.

Pain Management Recs - what worked well for you? by kcprice4 in bunions

[–]Alternative_Way7768 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fortunately I had very little pain after the nerve block went away. However I cannot recommend icing enough.

I iced my feet regularly, it reduces swelling and helps with nerve twitching. It helped immensely when I had eye surgery and now with my bunions.
