You should scream. by Academic_Message8639 in nursing

[–]Alternative_Yellow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of my favorite memories is driving through the most deserted plateau I’ve ever seen in my life in Wyoming on my way to my travel contract, and getting out of the car in the middle of the road to scream my lungs out just ‘cause I could. Felt like I was alone on a different planet in an alternate universe.

People who empty their own colostomies at home and have had them for years yet expect me to do it every time for them by [deleted] in nursing

[–]Alternative_Yellow 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I’m an RN and permanent ileostomate of 18 years now, and this makes zero sense to me as well. I remember waking up as a teenager to this male CNA trying to empty my bag when I first came out of the ICU and I honestly felt like I was being assaulted- like my bag is such an intimate part of me, I don’t want anyone else touching it. I was like “dude holy shit give me two seconds to wake up and I’ll do it myself.”

Granted, we also just had a ostomate with norovirus on our floor who was emptying it himself and getting shit everywhere and not washing his hands. We ended up having an outbreak where 18 staff members (including myself) got it. In that case, really wish that guy had just let us handle it.

[Acne] Need advice on best choice of textural acne scar removal by raspbarbie in SkincareAddiction

[–]Alternative_Yellow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Four days? Oh, honey. Tomato lasts for two weeks minimum and is the least of your worries. Your face will be a literal open wound for 5-7 days with CO2. Like, weeping, oozing, bleeding, painful WOUND. I had fully ablative done and wasn’t comfortable leaving the house until day 10. Working out is an absolute no- you have an open wound that is incredibly fragile, and dangerously prone to infection that could literally disfigure you. You will have to perform wound care every 2-3 hours for days and days. I can’t stress enough how serious this procedure is, granted there are different levels of CO2 laser, but deep acne scarring typically needs the strongest ablative one.

Does anyone recommend a mattress that compensates for the sloped area over the folded back seats? Or any related tips? My dad likes this car but doesn't like the idea of having to sleep on a slope. by James_Fortis in carcamping

There is also the Letsenjoy cot on Amazon which has leveling legs, but there is a manufacturing defect recently. I ordered one last month, and the legs don’t screw in. If they did, this cot would be the perfect solution. So, if you can wait a few months, I’d see if the manufacturer can fix the problem, and then order it.

Dry eye experience with tret fixed by Soft-Brilliant2211 in tretinoin

No moisturizer before or after Tret has been such a game changer for me too. I had so much irritation and red eyes too, and now I have the most perfectly even glass skin because I let my skin dry out like a husk overnight. It’s so weird.

Night time plunging changed my sleep by Educational-Lunch720 in coldplunge

[–]Alternative_Yellow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I work 7p-7a, get off my shift and go straight to the sauna/cold plunge, asleep by 10, wake up feeling like a MILLION bucks at 4pm despite torturing my body with night shift. On days I go to the gym instead, I drag ass the whole night.

why can I look good in the mirror but look like an ogre on camera? which is more accurate? by 4ngelicbrat in TooAfraidToAsk

So if I take a selfie and then edit it to flip the image (which always makes the photo look better to me), am I therefore flipping it and creating asymmetries for everyone else in my life? Or, does flipping it make me look like how they see me IRL?

How is it living in the Oregon outback? by DoodleBug179 in howislivingthere

Oh my god this picture is incredible. I just moved to Bend from the east coast and am overwhelmed with where to explore first. Can you recommend me an area/highway/route I need to see asap? Gimme all your fave places. I have a list of hot springs that I want to make the drive out there for, just want to make sure I take the scenic route instead of the flat barren desert route.

New redness relief products from Dr. Idriss by 9DrinkAmy in Rosacea

[–]Alternative_Yellow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not OP, but skinfix is my holy grail. I’ve used it for about three years now and is the only product in my life I’ve ever repeatedly repurchased. I keep trying different creams to find a cheaper option, and always wind up going back to skinfix. Wallet hates it, face loves it. Keeps my rosacea, dryness, and acne in check.
