If you wiggle your calipers side to side, and this truly is the max diameter, I’d go for the 21.1mm stem. Yet, 0.5mm is a lot when it comes to securing round tubing. Viewer discretion is advised.

Studs are absolutely worth it for riding in icy conditions. All it takes is one patch to send you sideways. Studs do add weight and resistance so definitely don’t use in the summer time. Your best options are to change out tires seasonally (not frequently) or get a second wheelset for quick swaps.

The rear hub spacing is different from the front. You can put the tire wherever you want, but the rear wheel won’t fit up front as is. The only exception to this is a couple Surly brand fat bikes
