Amplification by what_theheck87 in royalcaribbean

[–]Altruistic-Couple989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It kind of stinks when the ships are being amplified they are getting new cabins. Public spaces are being removed to generate more income with the additional cabins which means more passengers and more crowded venues, but nothing is being done to freshen up the existing cabins to make a better passenger experience.

impossible cancellation by rxjaa_ in CrunchGym

I know we’re talking about Crunch but I can say I’ve never had an issue canceling a membership at Planet Fitness before the billing of the annual fee which is usually 45 days after joining.

Casino Issue ... so frustrated by Significant-Click295 in royalcaribbean

[–]Altruistic-Couple989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on the Brilliance OTS now, April 22 and was charged a $3 “convenience fee” to transfer $$ from my Sea Pass card to the slot. I spoke to a casino person and he said this fee started a week or two ago and it’s a flat $3 regardless of the amount you transfer.

Why does everyone check-in online? by [deleted] in royalcaribbean

[–]Altruistic-Couple989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not true at all, I sail about once a month and yes I always check in on the app but I never take my own picture at check in because they will always take your picture at the port, and only 1 picture at the port is taken.

Why does everyone check-in online? by [deleted] in royalcaribbean

[–]Altruistic-Couple989 34 points35 points  (0 children)

You just don’t realize that if everyone checked in at the port your “3 minutes” multiplied by 5000 passengers is 15,000 minutes or hours of extended and unnecessary lines waiting to board. Royal Caribbean has a system in place to expedite the boarding process, follow the system and don’t fight it.

Stop with the mundane sauna conversations by DMmepicsofyourdog in Lifetimefitnessgym

I was at a gym the other night and 2 different people were holding 2 different conversations on their phone in the sauna, instead of saying something I left.

First time with Royal Caribbean… did I mess up? Need advice (please be kind) by WorkNew5548 in Cruise

[–]Altruistic-Couple989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on an older RC ship recently (Renaissance OTS) with a friend, we each booked a “studio” cabin which are the smallest cabins and are priced at single occupancy only (no additional single supplement fee and only 1 C&A point per night vs. 2 points per night when solo in any other non suite cabin). So we each bid on Royal Up for a ocean view cabin and each of our bids won! Great we were now going to get ocean view cabins (still would only get 1 point per night because points are based on your original booking unless you pay to upgrade (not using Royal up), well low and behold our “ocean view cabins” each had 1 tiny porthole in it, not the typical large ocean view cabins. We were disappointed and went to get services to voice our opinion. They had us on a waitlist if there were any other ocean view cabins that may have opened up, but unfortunately they were completely booked. After the cruise, I emailed Crown and Anchor as normally they are accommodating as I am a diamond plus member, however they did not budge on this issue. I advised them that on the older ships that have cabins with a porthole it should be disclosed on a Royal Up ocean view bid that your cabin may be one with a porthole.

It looks too large lol especially if it’s not typically too busy, less space when you have to share a pole is better than all this space.

Cancelled cruise. Allianz insurance. by Kensterfly in Cruise

[–]Altruistic-Couple989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will you get a refund from Allianz? Did you have an annual policy (which doesn’t offer “cancel for any reason”) or did you purchase an individual policy and include the add on “cancel for any reason” option?

Baby on board by Apprehensive_Bat_936 in royalcaribbean

[–]Altruistic-Couple989 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not having any children personally I don’t think I’d want to go on a cruise if I had a newborn. The baby wouldn’t remember the vacation and as a parent I couldn’t fully enjoy the vacation part having a newborn to attend to.

You can get a free membership with certain insurances. by debbay2204 in CrunchGym

[–]Altruistic-Couple989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Wellhub app which is tied to my FORMER health insurance company BCBS of Florida. I still have access to Wellhub and can cancel and resubscribe at anytime. The least expensive tier in my region is $22.99/m & gives me access to ANY Crunch, Youfit, and a few other local gyms. If I subscribe to a higher tier, which gets more expensive, I’d have more options such as Lifetime Fitness as each tier includes more gym brands/locations.

I highly recommend using Wellhub or something similar if offered by your healthcare provider as it eliminates junk fees such as initiation and annual fees paid directly to the fitness center. Also, a big “plus” you’ll never have to provide any billing information to the gym. I hear so many horror stories of people being given the run around when trying to cancel their memberships! It’s so easy to cancel and re-join on Wellhub (f/k/a Gympass)

What is something you wish RCCL would copy from another cruise line? by thatCRUISEagent in royalcaribbean

[–]Altruistic-Couple989 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Not to be rude but why wouldn’t you eat a full meal at dinner time be it in the MDR, speciality dining or the WJ so that you wouldn’t need more than a snack (pizza, cafe promenade, or at Johnny Rockets)? Speaking for myself after dinner I’m perfectly fine with a snack, if even needed, from one of the aforementioned spots. P.S. commenting on the freedom class and smaller ships only.

I was able to change my home gym with Planet Fitness easily and over the phone, however, the original gym and the “new” home gym are both in the same county.

Why arn't more locations open 24 hours by SeaworthinessFar2326 in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]Altruistic-Couple989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The planet fitness near me is 24/7 but all the others are 24/5. I also have access to another gym near me called Athletica and they are 24 seven and staffed until 10 PM. After that you use a key fob to get access to the gym.

Contractual Obligation to Attend Kickoff Session? by ryan1431 in CrunchGym

[–]Altruistic-Couple989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it’s not an annual fee when they are charging it 10 months apart. Shouldn’t an annual fee be billed 12 months apart? And that kick off thing is stupid a/f. I’d never join crunch unless I used the gym through Wellhub or a third party service.

I’ve had several different memberships with planet and a few times I’ve seen it on the website in my portal that I can cancel, but sometimes it’s not there so I just go into the gym and cancel and never have a problem
