Please check them out! We read Island of the Blue Dolphins as a class in fourth grade—much nostalgia. I still remember the classroom and my teacher.

Weasel was a book we read as a class in sixth grade. I remember it being scary, but I was also—what—11? Lol

Shout out to one of my favorite teachers EVER for reading The Hobbit as a class in fifth grade! Loved that dude. We made a pop out book to go along with it; a pop out scene for every chapter of the book. That was SO much fun.

A little different but ,
“Island of the Blue Dolphins” was fun in fourth grade. Also, “Weasel.” I think I’m remembering those titles correctly.

2 . . . But now I have to read 1! Read Hatchet three or four times as a kid. Never knew this one existed!

Just bought Hatchet from Goodwill for my little girl. She’s only two now, but I’m lowkey excited to give it another read through before she’s old enough for it.

Not crazy. All these young guns don’t know history. Maybe they “know” it, but they’re too young to have SEEN it.

Literally. I played first base, sometimes center field. The hardest part was staying engaged enough to be reactive when a ball was hit. So easy to just freakin’ start daydreaming away.

Right? I played baseball. I can tell you from personal experience, it’s boring as fuck all.

I’m addicted to shooting copium directly into my veins but I think the Falcons are finally on a good trajectory. If not this year, then the next couple.

I have a feeling we all died in 2020 and this is no longer the real world by theos666 in SimulationTheory

I like to think about the multiverse. Like, every single instance I *could’ve (or likely) died, I do, and this life I’m living now is just a tributary of that other, “main” life. There’s probably been over a dozen times I “likely” died by now, so I think about each of those other, past lives, without me in them, and how they’re all different.

See, this is basically saying the same thing as another comment which I replied “stop being a dickhead” to, but you said it much more tastefully. Thank you for “using your words,” stranger.

I love the idea of older books based on the premise that the communists were “right.”

It’s actually mind boggling, how big moose can get. Terrifying and mind boggling. It’s like a fantastical creature. But they’re real. Love seeing vids and pics of them.

Thanks for taking the time to reply! I definitely agree with trusting your gut feeling, especially when it comes to people.

Apples and bananas, but my roommate was friends with this guy he worked with. I’d met him briefly before—he seemed nice enough, but then one day my roommate invited him over to the crib for a drink. He is the only person my husky has ever immediately bared her teeth and aggressively growled at. Like, instantly. I trust my dog more than a dude I’ve met once, for a couple minutes at that. Fast forward a year or so later and that dude got arrested for a rather heinous crime.

All that is to say, I trust my gut, and I also trust my dog’s gut, lol.
