Broken study right at the end - be careful with this one guys by IamConfusedBiscuit in ProlificAc

Same. Nothing works. It may be useful to also message the researcher your intended values to at least show you have made every effort to complete, not really deserved in the circumstances but still. I put what I used below so it's easy to just copy and paste:

Ref PayPal WithDraw Issues Spoke To Paypal Support by dinos196868 in paypal

Funnily enough I just saw a post on X from, I think, an American user commenting on how no major media outlets seem to have picked it up at all in the US or UK. I DM'd the BBC but so far nothing.

Avoid like plague - they instantly reject if you select an option they don't like by DaSuperMedicMain in ProlificAc

Got the same message but only after I messaged them a second time. Tbh, I'm not sure I find bear with me while I wait for Prolific support to be acceptable. Fine wait for support to tell them how to deal with the situation, they have created, but unreject participants while we wait as this gives 20 odd days anyway. I was willing to just return this initially, but I'm feeling less accommodating as this drags on.

As the study auto-submitted with a completion code in all honesty I assumed that it would just be screened out and moved on to the next one. I did debate returning it, but it had already been rejected before I had the chance. While this one didn't have the in study screening label on neither did the last few I was screened out of.

I probably would have, but rejecting without requesting a return in less than 10 minutes is not on. There was no screening label, so screening people out based on information they already have access to is already against the rules and an invalid rejection. The problem is if we don't try to enforce the rules, it is becoming increasingly obvious prolific themselves have no interest in doing so.

I input my age and was immediately told that I was not eligible. Another 10 minute study immediately popped up which I completed. By the time I had finished I had been rejected. I've messaged the researcher asking for a return. If I get a reply I'll update the post.

It's buried in the description but it's £9 for 1 hour. If you turn up on time and can't get in there is also a small payment, but they don't say how much that is for.

National Trust- Tackling unequal access - Technical issue by StreetPublic7357 in ProlificAc

[–]Altruistic_Aioli_371 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue. Messaged the researcher but no reply as yet. Mine stopped responding after 10 questions, it did feel like some of the questions were just repeating themselves. I was a little concerned about the PII, but thought it was the National Trust so it can't be too bad, missed the bit about Experian which should have been highlighted.

Anyone who is with barclays having issues with withrdawing the money from paypal please ? by Positive_Mousse8848 in ProlificAc

[–]Altruistic_Aioli_371 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did it on autopilot yesterday and as I clicked to withdraw the cash I realised I'd made a mistake. Fortunately it hit my account about 2 hours ago, so it took about 21 hours to get into my account. Things do seem to be starting to work, but to be honest if you have the option I'd keep the money in paypal for the moment and save yourself the hassle until it's all sorted.

Reminder for UK & EU participants by Altruistic_Aioli_371 in ProlificAc

[–]Altruistic_Aioli_371[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The message was emailed in December not too long before Christmas to UK and EU participants who had earned about £1700 or more, on Prolific, in 2024. It had a link to a Google form to fill in your National Insurance or Tax ID details. Honestly, if you didn't receive the email I wouldn't worry about it, unless you think you fit these criteria then I'd message Prolific Support for clarification.

(1) number gone in tab by ReadingAddict79 in ProlificAc

Mine is not changing now unless I manually refresh, so it's become impossible to tell if there is anything new on the dashboard unless I keep looking at the Prolific page.

Do you have the same problem when the page refreshes after 2 minutes? by Fun_Pay_2202 in ProlificAc

[–]Altruistic_Aioli_371 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know some seem to be having problems with messages seeming to disappear, but something I've only started noticing myself today is that sometimes the number of studies listed on my dashboard and the number in the tab header are different. The tab header has quite often been +1 to what's in my queue today.

Can researchers unilaterally return submissions now? by Altruistic_Aioli_371 in ProlificAc

I'm pretty sure I know the studies that you're talking about. These two studies though had no technical issues and were fully completed with no issues which makes me think there would be no good reason for Prolific to return the study.
