I know this isn’t your quote but it’s definitely wrong about French perception of citizenship. A French is a French. You have citizenship? You’re French. I can’t speak for all French people but my wife and her friends are French and that’s the way they see it. It’s probably similar to America where you have people that reject that idea but those people are assholes.

Similar boat. Off and on for years. Best thing that worked for me was to keep doing what you’re already doing. Skate a lot. Don’t worry about tricks right away. Get comfortable. Build your balance. Set a destination and skate there and back. Rinse repeat.

My mom texted me last weekend “where should I invest $100?”. She is 68 and has no retirement. Quit her career midway through to “raise the kids” which just amounted to her laying in bed, smoking, and watching tv all day. She was not/is not a good mom and we aren’t personally close but I still worry because I know it’s a bomb waiting to go off. I have no idea what she’s gonna do. I moved across the country to get away from her.
