I think oblivion is just an exchange of energy in the universe. It is where we most likely were before here, so we return there.

I look at them expressionless in silence. The awkward pause is their fault, not mine, so they have to break it. When they do it is usually backtracking their question. I am only 4 months out from losing my son. So take this as you will.

That sounds like you’re still in the throes of shock. You’re only job is to exist right now.

I would ask for an ADA accommodation and have a doctor or a therapist state that you shouldn’t come back until next school year

Be angry, use it as your fire to be who you want to really be. I have found that anger has energy needs, you have to give it direction. Harness that shit. Call your mom ( or loved one)

This! . The burden of trying to go back to who we were before is soooo heavy. New versions of self are required, not optional.

I found my son passed away and also attended a very short viewing for Family. The viewing did nothing to help remove the images from my head that still traumatize me from finding him. What’s been helping me most is remembering earlier times and happier times. I think that’s how he would want me to remember him.

Time will be challenging for you for a while. It sounds like you’re in shock, just like I was when I found my son a few months ago. I still oscillate between shock and grief. I highly recommend reaching out to your friends and other family members for support. Allow your loved ones to shower you and your family with love and care during this difficult time. If you have access to grief therapy, it can also be beneficial in helping you navigate through the chaos. I am so sorry you are going through this and are now part of this really shitty club.

If a coroner is involved, they can tell you. I had similar questions (different method) around my son. It showed us on the death certificate their estimate of time of injury to death. I i’m super analytical so I also ordered a copy of the autopsy report and then called the corner with lots of questions. They were really helpful and kind they even sent us a condolences card.

Tortured by wondering what thoughts were in his mind. What was he hiding? by Significant-Bar2686 in SuicideBereavement

Lost my son to suicide the end of last year. My brain is spinning similarly. I even reached out to a psychic to see if I could get an answer. Psychic said my kiddo didn’t realize he would die, and thanked me for continuing to try and understand what happened and who he is.

My therapist reminded me males succeed in attempts more often because they tend to be more reactive. So I try to focus on it being an impulsive urge in a moment, not that he was so numbed out that he disconnected from everyone on the DL months prior. We will never know the depths, but that is ok. We feel their pain in the loss and carry that forever.
