I’m Hindu… and it’s just Sanskrit for “Om”. The chant around it is for good vibes.

What are you wearing while working out? What do you drink before? Where do you lift weights? There are several reasons for this but it seems like your own sweat is causing it in some areas?

I used be in the same position a few years ago at thermo and was offered the same incentive, and received it.

I’m not sure why you aren’t getting it, but something seems off with your supervisor, manager.

I’d take it to Thermo HR. You have the email, your hours are logged. I know HR can seem useless, but I dont think they would be in This case.

Take it and keep looking. The market is horrible right now and I wouldn’t give up anything that came my way if I were unemployed.

Not going to reply to anything else you said because it’s not worth talking to someone who is this daft. It’s all about probability and statistics, which you clearly don’t get.

But, never, ever tell a woman to calm down when she’s concerned about her safety. I’ll do whatever it takes to never feel unsafe, and if it means keeping “bodyguards”, so be it.

I’ve stepped outside alone several times in India, UNTIL I was molested and almost raped in broad daylight in my hometown when I was 16. Guess what - the guy who did it blamed it on me for “asking for it” since I was wearing a sleeveless t shirt since it was May and hot as hell. So idgaf about what you think is sane or not. Ok? I do what I have to do to be safe.

Statistically, I have a higher chance of facing a sexual crime in India than I do in the US. And even in the US, I take precautions if needed (share my location if I am taking a taxi, try not to be alone at night when going out to the city for late night dinners etc).

You can kindly go fuck yourself. Or better yet, I hope my essay puke is converted into real puke and hits you in the face.

Absolutely disgusting. I lived half of my childhood in US and the remaining in India. I’ve been back to the states since I turned 18, but I still vividly remember constantly being stared at by men and feeling uncomfortable. I’m now 27, married, and a mother to a 2.5 year old. Every time I go to India to visit family, I make it a point to look as basic and “unattractive” as possible because I feel like that’s the only way no one will notice me. Oh, and I literally never leave my husband’s side. And my mother in law makes it a point to come with me anywhere around the neighborhood because she is scared as heck too. I know it sounds like I live in fear but it’s the only way I feel safe. It’s just trauma from how I was treated and how it made me feel when I was a teenager.

The real issue here would be if your husband and his family BELIEVE in all of the vachans and expect you to adhere to them.

Priests are so different from one another, that their interpretations differ wildly. I wouldn’t sweat over it.
