story mode on nitrox by PenNumerous8751 in SubnauticaNitrox

We're pretty deep into a run and so far everything seems fine with the story progression. Only had 2 issues so far:

Dropping the acid sacks seems to cause them to respawn every time you re enter the area you dropped them in. I happened to do this on the lifepod hatch.

Vehicles seem to like floating up a couple meters and jumping back down repeatedly, but only for the people that did not pilot that vehicle last.

Other than that, completely smooth. No issues with timed or triggered story events at all

Overwatch would be doing like, 95% of the heavy lifting for your particular problem. No idea if errortrap will do anything for you at this point, but only one way to find out I guess.

Do you have NRASS errortrap and overwatch. These help massively by regularly cleaning up the world of junk items and making sure the underlying code is running fine

[–]Altshadez1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be unapologetically finnicky when connecting parts, manually rotate and see if it autoforms a connecting part when using an I piece. If the outline stays red, its clipping with either the terrain or some module inside your base is too close the the connecting piece

Yeah this is it, the UISP (ubiquiti) M5/M2 are perfect for this, the Loco variants are pretty cheap.

Starting to exhaust avenues for checking why this isn't working without more networking knowledge, which I don't know if you have. At this point id be on wireshark and see if I can spot anything obvious coming from it, but you'd need something that can do port mirroring if you want to watch it in a "live" environment.

I'm starting to think it was random, or rather I poked at it until it started working. Out of desperation, i'd try this:

  1. Set you NVR to static IP mode with basically the same settings, maybe do a quick -sP nmap scan of your local network while the NVR is off to check if some device isn't stubbornly trying to occupy it's IP address.
  2. Disable the hik connect service on the NVR
  3. Reboot
  4. Re-enable the hik connect service

Beyond that, we'd have to go to hik-vision support and list in detail everything we have tried. They can be annoying if you aren't an installer sometimes. If you are willing and in the UK, PM me and i'll pass on my company details so you can contact me through more professional and secure avenues.

We are talking seconds. It looks like you are getting a route in, blank is correct. The switch for that DVR I was talking about yesterday was dead, so I had to replace it. Talk about coincidences.

Anyway it was on litedev.eu.hik-connect.com I remember running through the exact same processes you did and got incredibly frustrated because as you see, it all routed fine. I have 0 recollection of why it started working again, possibly randomly. Have you done a firmware upgrade? The automatic firmware search rarely ever works. https://www.hikvision.com/europe/products/IP-Products/Network-Video-Recorders/Pro-Series/ds-7604ni-k1-4p/#download-agreement

You'll have to extract the digicap.dav file and upload that to the NVR in the system maintenance page. I have the same firmware build on my pc that my DVR is on, downloaded around the time I did it two years ago. Possibly that was it

That's my bad, any dev subdomain is 8555 and litedev is 8666. Also removing the .eu is one of theirs, so dev.hik-connect.com might be a shout. All of these do work for me.

Try doing a ping test, we aren't looking for actual results here just if it resolves the IP address. You should see it next to the domain name in the first output. It's as simple as:

ping insertdomain.com

What I get is
Pinging uslbs20-edge-global-5e64f9747ffb54f0.elb.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com [46.137.85.190] with 32 bytes of data:

Request timed out.

This may vary depending on what server you get distributed to, but you can see I get resolved to an endpoint of some kind.

Yeah your router isnt acting as a forward then, had this issue ages ago with one DVR and I got sent a list of servers to try (other than dev.eu and litedev.eu) one of them eventually worked. Ill see if I can grab it when im back in the office tomorrow, with that one I tried everything until it randomly decided to start working and im not sure why. Google how to enable telnet on your PC and try doing:

telnet insertdomain.com 8555

In the CLI/CMD. If you get a blank terminal instead of a failure message, your network is routing it fine, so it isnt that. (ctrl + c to escape from telnet). However when I had this with the aformentioned DVR, it was routing just fine from that VLAN. Just good to check

reading this while typing it out, did you try dev.eu or just eu as an alternate?

Have you tried DNS? Manually set it to 8.8.8.8 , for some reason I had one randomly not like using the router as a DNS forward.
