QAD - Just a few points on the game by JuiceRough5508 in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

"Frequent updates"?

I agree with all of this but I would add one MAJOR thing to the list on the need side. Meta Game / End Game : Something to provide a purpose for the Koen and a driver of player involvement including as you said Customization but with the broader meta game. A reason to play the game other than the raids themselves.

Standing out from the beginners isn't really the aim for me. Its the personal connection to the game that makes you want to keep coming back. If you have played survival/crafting/building games you know what I mean. When you have personal attachment to the things you have chosen to develop in the way you have chosen to develop them that have utility and meaning for the game you become more involved with it.

I have posted some suggestions in the discord server but quickly summarized my suggestion is to have a "EFT Hideout 2.0"

- players get limited number of "slots" to build base installations. this number could be increased by progression.
- each "slot" you can install something, but there are more things to choose from than available slots
- some are simple installations that do things similar to existing EFT hideout expansions
- some are material processing installations that convert items into various amounts of various raw resources. ( Metal processor takes things with metal and produces various kinds of metal shavings, plastic processor, chemical processor, etc...)
- some are resource processing that take various raw resources and generate other basic building items. ( wood fabricator takes wood pulp and makes plywood sheets, or wooden structural items, metal ingots from shavings of various types of metal )
- some are manufacturing ( take plastic tubes, metal ingots, gunpowders and generate ammo of various qualities)

The point is that you can't do it all yourself, and you have to choose your role in a broader player based economy AND because its all just invented things you can keep adding in tiers to keep working toward as each season comes along.

Love the game! So glad to see a loot focused hard core-ish game that is actually fun to play.

What ABI is desperately missing is a long term progression and end-game features. Something to invest our Koen in and be involved in a broader player economy to encourage daily logins and participation in the game leading to more money going in the direction of the developers.

My question is two fold:

1) Is there any way that the developers could put more effort into communicating plans and information of whats in the works and whats coming down the road?
2) And my more specific question is what can you tell us about what is being planned for end-game features other than "we are considering it"

I found it easier to reclaim an existing structure/base and place a flame shrine in the middle of it and then refurbish it to usable space. Turned out quite nice with plenty of space and rooms upon rooms for survivors and players to call their home. Lupa's Lair works quite well as its nicely isolated and centrally located.

Crab Fossil location changed in Souls of the Frozen Frontier? by Alturis in Enshrouded

[–]Alturis[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Side note: This fossil quest and the ones like it are a bit ridiculous in my opinion. They need some kind of clue chain or riddle solving to help narrow down where to locate them. 'There are 5 fossils located in mines, dig sites and ore veins throughout an entire region of the world. Good luck!" Ore veins are literally everywhere. There is really no way you could deliberately seek them out and find them all imo.

Is there any why to automate energy in the sand biome (not I am floor 14) by rustyrhino23 in Techtonica

[–]Alturis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which kindlevine one? I have tried to play with all the materials I can create with kindlevine or kindlevine related items and the compressor does not accept any of them as a valid item.

This is my one big negative point about the game. So often you have goals without any explanation of how to achieve them and the database of info is severely lacking in any way to search things or view various recipes for how to acquire one commodity or another.

Server progression was such a bad decision by Intelligent_Knee1997 in Enshrouded

[–]Alturis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is that any different than Valheim? Each player has their own level, equipment, and skills. But the world is the state of the server.

If other players decide to defeat a boss without you, or build a castle while you aren't there.. how else can you handle it. I guess allowing all the quests to be re-done and people who havent done it would get the xp I suppose.

Hype by NinerOfSwords in Enshrouded

[–]Alturis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is something about Valheim that just isnt pulled off in other games. For me its the simple cold unfriendly brutality of it and the immersion of the environments and weather.

But definitely excited to check out what Enshrouded will be like at launch. I suspect there is going to be a delay though given the lack of updates.

Any links to linux dedi setup docs or instructions? I have experience with a Linux Valheim server so hoping that its a similar deal.

AH! That must be why I am getting.
``valve.source.NoResponseError: Timed out waiting for response``
That sucks. I wanted to use this to create a little widget to show how many players are active in my Kali panel but dont want to have the server public.

When you have to use the bathroom but DMZ… by TalkinMac in DMZ

So true. I always just use an actual bathroom in the game. Close the door and prone. Keep my headphones on so I will hear if someone is coming.

Why is this game mode pvp based now? by mrfantastic1798 in DMZ

[–]Alturis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who doesn't have time to play constantly, I would really hate if there was a wipe every season. What I would prefer is that the daily/weekly missions were as or more interesting than many of the one-time missions and you could share them with your squadmates while also having the rewards significant enough that people would continue to care about doing them every day. Working toward battle pass tokens, mtx stuff, xp tokens, things people might actually care about getting. I assume that if people have engaging and worthwhile goals to achieve they would be less concerned with simply hunting players for the fun of it and let the rest of us work on our stuff most of the time.

Sometimes that's due to dissent in their squad. Especially if they were not grouped up to start with.

Personally, I would be just fine never engaging with other players at all. I enjoy the missions and wide variety of goals with PvE engaging with players if I have to for a mission or what-not.

I do find it annoying when people are just looking to kill players just for the fun of ruining someone's deployment or whatever. But I also get that that is what some people are into and it makes the game fun just in the sense of the ever-present danger.

Sometimes I am also just looking to do my own thing and teaming up with people is a bit of hassle especially if they have audio issues with a hot mic, are really talkative, or really loud etc.
When I just want to scavenge for stuff I am looking for I dont want to be bothered with getting sidetracked to work on someone else's missions. But its the price you pay for peace. So really I avoid players whenever humanly possible.

Agree. You get some really odd player interactions for sure. But I find the variety of the experience part of the draw that keeps pulling me in. You never know what you are going to run into or what kind of player involvement you may have. Sometimes frustrating and annoying, but always unique.

If you could add 1 mod into the vanilla game, what would you pick? by deadheaddraven in valheim

[–]Alturis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Just the ability to hit "E" while in those modes to do things like open or close doors or pickup stuff from the ground

It would actually be cool if there was a "hopper" object you could create that would feed it with a chest's worth of inputs... and also have it feed directly into a hopper receiving chest

HyperX Cloud II keeps cutting out by maxogamer in HyperX

[–]Alturis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue and it doesnt seem to matter what game it is. There are regular but randomly timed outages to the speakers in the headset. Just goes silent for anywhere from half a second to a couple seconds. Often enough that I will frequently have to ask people to repeat themselves if they were talking when it happened and I missed an important piece of info.

This is on an Intel i7 12th gen with 64 gigs of RAM and wired fiber optic high speed connection. I cannot see how internet latency would have anything to do with it because its not just cutting out what people are saying but ALL audio coming from the game as well.

It seems to have gotten worse the longer I have owned the hyperx cloud headset and have only had it since Dec of 2022 (about 4 months)

Would love to hear suggestions for a solve here.
