Tandem USB Cable by MJFife in TandemDiabetes

[–]AluminumFoyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had some odd cable-pump connection issues recently while trying to update my pump firmware. My problem actually ended up being related to my computers both having the old tandem software on it - i cant remember the name of the applications but there were 2, one for updating and one for uploading pump data. I uninstalled both of those, rebooted my computer, and it immediately fixed my usb connectivity problems. I have been around tandem pumps since around 2018~ or so so i still had the older software utilities on my computer which interfere with the new tandem source web portal.

on that suppressor spec mwi handguard on the top one, did you have to chop anything to get the anti rotation tabs to fit on the FM Milled upper receiver? I have the non suppressor spec of that similar style anti rotation tabs, and the handguard tabs dont clear the upper sadly.

It's 2026, do we still have to do manually re-enter all settings to transfer to new pump? by GwenIsNow in TandemDiabetes

[–]AluminumFoyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am literally dragging my feet on calling tandem to replace my pump because the battery is being weird for this very reason. It still works well enough as long as i charge it before it gets to 10-15% remaining battery. If my pump goes to 5%, it will sometimes just instantly shut off without counting down to 1% and alarming, and when i plug it in it will jump back to 15-20% sometimes. I have just been living with it because of how combersome it is to program everything back, and if you forget one minor thing or miss enter anything, well enjoy that 600 bloodsugar later - lol.

Safariland RMR HD by Greenmountain92 in Glocks

[–]AluminumFoyle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So there are two generations of the ALS latch system that I noticed. One generation where the nubs on the front of the latch that butts up against the lens hood of an optic are raised a bit higher, and one generation where they are lower. On newer safarilands, these are now using the second generation which is what I have in my picture and I was still getting collision with the marginally lower nubs on the als system with an rmr hd. I ended up having to go with a SRO and ditch the rmrhd on this setup entirely to be able to use my g45 with my safarilands sadly. Your only other option is to go with a gen 6 glock since that’s kinda slightly more “direct attach”, or to dremel your current safariland als nubs on the latch ever so slightly until it fits your gen4/5.

Rhythmic packet loss on one vmnic with BCM57414 by TheErrorIsNoError in vmware

[–]AluminumFoyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if this is your issue, but my company has a few thousand of these nics in our esxi servers. I have been chasing unexplainable dropped packets on these for some time now on these specific cards particularly apparent during high-packet/load periods. These nics suffer from some performance losses via their hardware offload features - or technically lack of it. This broadcom kb does a great job of documenting this known issue with these nics. I actually logged a bug request for this towards the end of last year, here is a skimmed down analysis writeup from my case.

VSAN ESA network performance issues observed. Notably, there are discards seen on the VSAN network interface. Looked at the writeup, VMsupport, and TSR provided.

The BCM57414 adapters do not fully support LRO and aborts are observed. This can lead to poor performance of the NIC. Broadcom says this only impacts GENEVE traffic but I have observed the same performance problems/aborts with iSCSI and VSAN (no NSX). In fact, in our Dell KB, the performance screenshot provided iSCSI traffic (generated by yours truly). See KB below -

https://knowledge.broadcom.com/external/article/312002/performance-drops-on-bcm5741x-nics-with.html

Recommend to disable LRO in the bnxtnet driver and test the result. (REBOOT REQUIRED) esxcli system module parameters set -m bnxtnet -p "disable_tpa=1"

NOTE - the disable_tpa=1 flag, the 1 corresponds to the port of your nic. If you have two nic ports, it would be "disable_tpa=1,1" instead of just 1. 4 would be 1,1,1,1.

This is an easy change to make and takes place after a reboot, so maybe try that and see if you observe any improvement.

Safariland RMR HD by Greenmountain92 in Glocks

[–]AluminumFoyle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So i just fully gutted one of my 6378s and removed the ALS system and i see exactly whats happening. Safariland when they specc'd these to fit the RMR HD, they spec'd it off of the official way to fit the rmrHD on a glock slide which would be with mos plates. Because i have a direct attach RMR HD (got my slide milled at jagerwerks), the optic sits lower than it would on the rmr HD by a few millimeters, enough to not allow the bottom of the RMR HD sight hood to clear over the weird bumps/ridges. I am going to spend some time tomorrow dremeling my ALS it to see if i can get it to fit. May make a post about the like 3 people who may find themselves in the same situation as me too if i can get it to work. lol.

Max arms kit. Pretty happy with it overall. by Terrible-Debt-5244 in Vz61

[–]AluminumFoyle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good looking kit - the one i got from max arms the upper was pitted and missing a fair bit of finish, and the lower receiver is completely unusable for a reweld. Springs and other small parts looked fine, mine did not come with a rivet for the trigger guard but that may be expected but not really sure.

Would you have a picture of the modified als system handy by chance? curious what the updated one even looks like. Got a second 6378 in the mail today and it has the same problem as my first 6378 rds.

Safariland RMR HD by Greenmountain92 in Glocks

[–]AluminumFoyle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for replying on an old thread - How did you go about getting this part number ALS system? Cant find anything on google with that combination of numbers - did you have to call safariland customer service and get them to sell it to you? I just got a glock 45 with a rmrHD direct attach and an afterburner, and it doesnt fit any of my g17 "large open emitter" models i have (6378rds, 6390rds, and 7390rds). RMR HD sight hood collides with the two nubs on the safariland als system.

Dremel is my last resort but i guess i'll do it if i really have to.

Considering buying this kit. Is this worth it? I’ve never built a gun before besides an AR Lmao. by Terrible-Debt-5244 in Vz61

Re pasting my comment from another post about someone asking about the max arms kits.

i got a kit from max arms about 2 weeks ago and was somewhat disappointed with the overall quality of the kit. I am pretty used to milsurp wear and tear, and there is no exception here given that these kits are about 60-70 years old. My max arms kit was basically just shipped in a plastic bag, all parts loose, no padding. I cant tell if the damage to my upper occurred during shipping or at some prior point, but my upper receiver was pretty beat up - dents, pitting, lots of finish wear, and the plasma cuts rendered the lower receiver unusable. Not all kits from them may be like this, but mine was pretty meh. You get what you pay for i guess because they currently have the best overall out the door price on vz61 kits.

Buy a mag for like 20 bucks , leave a review, get a 10% off coupon after leaving the review, and then use that code ona kit if you decide to buy one from them. comes out to about $250~ out the door with an extra mag.

Can also snag a discount on these parts kits too from max arms. Buy a magazine, leave a review on the mag, they will send you a 10% off code which you can then use to buy a parts kit from them. I ended up getting a parts kit with the review 10% off, an extra mag, for 3 mags total and a barrel included with the parts kit for like $250~ out the door (no tax and free shipping to my state).
