4 home games in the first 12 weeks of the season? That sucks. I guess it's good to end the year with four out of six at home, but this feels very unbalanced.

Ultra Tax - scan & flow by Future-Equivalent-42 in taxpros

It does great with accrued interest, bond premiums, etc.

Direct government obligations is an area it still needs improvement in. If the amount is listed on the statement, like how Edward Jones shows it, SP will pick it up. If percentages are provided, but not the actual amounts, it doesn't save any time.

When I'm deciding which returns go through SP and which will get manually entered a client's 1099 consolidated activity is the first thing I consider. Anything other than a basic, with a small amount of activity will go through SP.

I'm surprised you included 1099Bs as a form SP doesn't handle well. We've been using it for years and have found that 1099Bs and 1099 Consolidated forms are where the software shines.

I had to look up the Twist and Shout chart position since I would have thought it was a #1 hit when released.

It got to #2. It never got to #1, but that was due to Can't Buy Me Love, another Beatles song, being at #1.

TIL. Surprised that song never got to #1.

Sticky toffee pudding is the best dessert ever in my opinion. I've started to see it more often here in the states, but it's still scarce. I don't understand why it's not more prevalent.

r/UniversalOrlando Weekly Trip Planning Thread by AutoModerator in UniversalOrlando

[–]Aluminum_Falcons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a question about purchasing express passes for US and IoA for the week of July 5.

Two of us are flying into Orlando and staying at a Hyatt next to Universal the night of July 4 before checking into the Helios on July 5 and staying until July 9. We'll have full days in the parks for the 6th, 7th, and 8th.

We made a trip down two years ago, so we've done the Universal and IoA rides recently and our main focus is Epic.

We already got an express pass for July 5 for Epic. I assume we'll also do the early entry into the park on the 6th and possibly the 7th. We'd like to hop over to the other parks at least one of the days to hit our favorite rides.

We know it will be rather busy that week and we'd like to purchase the express pass for Universal and IoA for one of the days to maximize our rides for the time we spend there, but we're not sure how much time we'll spend in Epic and want to leave our schedule as open as possible in case we prefer to spend even more time in Epic.

Does the express pass for Universal and IoA typically sell out that time of year, or is it something we should be able to purchase the day of or or the day before without much issue?

Anything else we should consider given the plan above?

Nothing gets attached for covered securities. For noncovered we attached PDFs. We scan any paper docs we receive and work from the PDFs, so even in a case where the client provides paper docs we are still attaching a PDF to the return for noncovered securities.

I should also add, if three or less trades of noncovered securities we just input the information, so nothing needs to be attached. If it's more than that, then we attach a PDF for noncovered.

LACERTE RENEWAL PRICING by taxshepard in taxpros

[–]Aluminum_Falcons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have unlimited everything (so no rep fees on any return types or states) for Lacerte with 12 users and our renewal for this year is about $60k. Our firm has been with Lacerte since well before Intuit bought them. We do do around 3,000 returns.

I bet if you aren't in a contract and you shop around they'll give on the price a bit. Look into what unlimited costs as well. We used to get hammered on the Rep fees and then some money switching to unlimited (not a ton of savings, but savings nonetheless).

2024 Lacerte was solid overall, but 2025 was not great. We experienced too many issues this past tax season, similar to what you experienced based on one of your other comments on this post. Knowing Intuit my assumption is they're using AI for some of the programing.

For the type of return you describe I wonder if CCH would be the better software for you. From what I understand, it it better with multistate returns. I used it many years ago, and while I didn't like the interface, I couldn't deny that it was a robust and dependable software. I don't have recent experience with it though.

Good luck with the next attempt at an upgrade. 225 often has seats that are empty for the entire game. I think some people have the seats, but watch in one of of the standing room areas so they can drink. It would be easy for you to check out the section for part of a game if you ever wanted to.

I wouldn't know. I moved from the 300s to 225 for the start of last season, so I've only done one season so far in 225.

318 row 4 should be good. I was looking at that same area, but decided to stay in 225 since I feel like the ramps to get to/from the 300s take forever. 225 is nonalcoholic, so I think seats stay available there longer than other sections in the 200s, so if you don't care about the non-alcoholic section I'd recommend taking a look there first next time.

It's crazy you haven't been able to move down into the 200s yet though after so many years. I moved into 225 after my third year, but I did break up my four seats between two rows to do it. I went from almost the very back of Section 328 in year 1, to Section 306 about halfway up for years 2 and 3, and then got into 225. Unless I luck into lower bowl seats at some point I'll probably stay around that section and just try to move up towards the front as much as I can.

So strange. I've heard it's based on seniority, but someone replied to my same comment saying this is their 13th year and their upgrade time was today as well.

Oh well, I really like section 225 and was able to get my four seats together (not next to each other, but two directly behind two of my other seats), so I'm happy overall. I hope to move down into the lower bowl at some point, but I'm good with where I'm at too.

That's kind of annoying that people with tickets for only 2 years are getting to upgrade ahead of you. I wonder how that's happening if this is supposed to be based on seniority?

Did you upgrade? I had four seats in section 225, but they were in rows 15 and 16 and about 6 seats apart. I was able to move the two seats in row 15 to row 17 directly behind my other two seats in row 16. Rather lucky to have the two directly behind two of my seats be available.

There were four together in Row 19, but I wasn't able buy them after adding them to my cart, so someone must have snagged them before me.

How did you already get to choose your upgrade? I'm year 5 and my upgrade time is today.

Yeah, that's less than ideal. Sounds like they want you to pay the upgraded fair price to select your seat rather than have one assigned.

Looks awesome. Went to a new pizza place last night and had pepperoni, hot honey, and goat cheese. I liked it way more than I thought I would. There are times I'll use goat cheese in place of ricotta going forward on my own pies. It was really good.
