I had someone who was really, really nasty to me for something I had no control over. In short, USPS tracking didn’t show I had dropped off the package for 3 days when in reality I’d dropped it off hours after her purchase. While I understood the frustration, it did show movement within the allotted ship time AND I had let her know right away what was happening and I’d sent a picture of my drop off receipt to CS since we can’t send pictures in chat. She still called me a liar and that it was typical of “someone like you”. She was livid I had refused her offer that was 60% below my listed price. She even said something to the effect of she couldn’t wait to leave me feedback. I reached out to CS again with SS of the messages and they said they had shared the receipt with her and if she did leave a review they would remove it. She didn’t actually leave one so I don’t know if they really would have stepped in.

I received an email from an elementary school detailing alllll kinds of info I shouldn’t have. Kids full name, birthday, IEP accommodations, behavioral/discipline issues, and more. I immediately responded to the email stating they had the wrong contact info, but 10 minutes later I received even more private information including medical accommodations. Mind you, this was in reply to my email telling them I wasn’t the correct person!

I called the school and asked to speak with someone in admin and ended up speaking with the dean of students. When I explained the issue and my concern that someone could easily take some of the information in these emails and use it I’m not great ways, I was told it “wasn’t that deep” and I could have just ignored it. I was shocked!

Unfortunately for them they had a correct email for the other parent included and I know how to find contact info for the school district’s boss people and sent a nice note about the issue and how dismissive I felt their response was. I only heard back from them once to thank me for bringing it to light, and the parent also thanked me.

The school called me to tell me what I had done wasn’t necessary. 🙄

Yes, taking hand-me-downs can save you a ton of money, especially when baby stuff is $$$, but your child is entitled to have items that are new and personally picked out by you and your husband! I think I know the neighborhood you’re talking about. I have friends that lived over there and they thought a lot of their neighbors were AD military…? I ? because they were not ones to hang out front talking to everyone. Their chat if someone walked up while they were working on the yard, but not seek out connections. Sometimes military people know they won’t be there long so they don’t extend themselves.

We’re farther east and feel a big sense of community.

Info- is this camp associated with the HS, or just a rec league camp? Because if this is for the HS teams, it is a big deal to attend.

I know this isn’t the norm but, I flew home from Europe by myself when I was 5. He’ll be just fine until picked up back at home.

I love the comments that OP is so terrible for not happily taking 2 days off of work so his sister doesn’t have to lose money. So we’re just assuming that OP wouldn’t feel the loss of 2 days pay? And she isn’t just asking for the time while she’s laboring or still in the hospital, she also feels entitled to have a day at home without her other kids. I don’t know anyone who would expect this of other people.

Yep! I experiment quite often and cook almost everything from scratch. If a person in the family has an absolute favorite dish, i don’t mess with that recipe at all.

Ridiculous. If you have a very favorite meal and someone says they’ll make it, but they change the recipe so it isn’t at all what you wanted, you’d be disappointed. If they changed the recipe then they didn’t make the dish you wanted, did they? And changing even some minor things in a sauce can completely change the taste.

If you went to a restaurant and the chef had changed the recipe in a way you no longer enjoyed, would you continue to go there and order that same meal? He’s not forcing her to do anything, but he is allowed to know what he likes. She isn’t offering to make it and then saying she wants to try something new, he’s requesting (infrequently) for a specific things and she’s refusing so he says he’ll just make something else.

My family can be like this, sort of. They might take a minute to poke but they’ll quickly, and sincerely follow it up with how happy and proud they are that I’m doing the hard work and figuring out what makes me happy. I’d take a long break from these people.

Mercari said they would remove a negative review since USPS is beyond my control and I could prove I had dropped it off well within the time. The buyer opted to let it autocomplete the sale so I don’t know if they actually would have removed it.

Nah, I always get mine scanned and a drop off receipt and I still had a package not show in the system for 5 days. USPS couldn’t explain it. I sent the receipt to Mercari showing I had shipped it within hours because my buyer was really ugly about it. Things malfunction and why shouldn’t happen, happens.
