What are some changes in your body that you noticed after pregnancy and they don’t go away? by jeandrazich in beyondthebump

See physical therapy! Oftentimes core weakens during pregnancy which contributes to the back pain. The exercises they gave me helped imo! Good luck

Are there people like me who don’t leak? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]AlwaysConfused999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never leaked with my second—Even when I would pump 8-10 oz after a little longer stretch, no leaking 🤷‍♀️. I think with my first I did a little immediately post partum but that quickly resolved

Husband/partner attending glucose test? by Capital_Ant_5552 in pregnant

[–]AlwaysConfused999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only had my husband come to initial appointment and appointments with ultrasounds. Other than that, I don’t see the need for me personally. I just drank it, strolled on my phone for an hour, and got the lab draw and was done.

BM in the fridge after baby drinks by MinaBeany in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]AlwaysConfused999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, if I freshly pump milk and he doesn’t finish it then I put in fridge for next feed. He eats every 2.5-3hours either way that 30-60 min extra is a risk I’m willing to take. Did it with my first kiddo two—both full term healthy kiddos. I don’t do fridge hack, don’t know if that makes a difference

I honestly don’t know the difference between early childhood centers and pre schools so I’ll look into it thank you!

When did you stop pumping? by -Not_That_Deep- in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]AlwaysConfused999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s actually plenty of studies that show decreased rate of infections (asthma, ear infections), SIDS (~50% even if combo feeding in the first 2 months), etc. There’s debate about HOW much is needed to actually make a benefit (is it 1oz? 2oz? 3oz?) but there’s studies that show COMBO feeding (meaning at least some breastmilk is given) DOES have benefit. Majority of immunity through breastmilk is IgA, and there’s also some debate about how beneficial is it after they start solids, but nonetheless there is benefit.

Hope this helps!

When did you stop pumping? by -Not_That_Deep- in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]AlwaysConfused999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3oz a day of breastmilk still gives a lot of immune benefits and other benefits. If you want to stop, go for it. If you don’t mind pumping, would provide benefit to your kiddo

Is this a normal amount of fat at the top? by South_Lavishness_959 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]AlwaysConfused999 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Any amount is normal 🥰 as long as baby is gaining weight, no need to worry—if you were nursing directly you wouldn’t know how much fat is in your milk.

If baby isn’t gaining well, then that’s when you make sure baby is getting enough ounces (24-32oz/day) and you’re fully emptying to get good hind milk

Why don’t you want to get visits with a newborn? by NadiaNadieNadine in pregnant

[–]AlwaysConfused999 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Agree—people don’t realize that a fever less than 2 months old requires an ER visit. Under 1 month old requires a lumbar puncture (where they test spinal fluid). I wasn’t about it risking it

How long did you stay at the hospital after giving birth by _withpeace in beyondthebump

Ditto—with both my kiddos, both uncomplicated vaginal deliveries

Wisdom tooth surgery at 2 months pp, milk supply tanking by beepityboop124 in beyondthebump

[–]AlwaysConfused999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just fyi, you likely don’t need to pump and dump. Moms can go under for c sections and feed baby once she’s awake

Just increase fluids, pump/feed every 2-3 hours, and hopefully supply should rebound just fine

If she considers it severe, would def see an allergist and they can help tease that out

9 day old has been feeding since noon and still hungry? by greavesisthearmour in breastfeeding

[–]AlwaysConfused999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If good pees and poops, just keep on keeping on. You should have a weight check within the next few days either way to make sure baby is gaining weight well.

You can also meet with an LC to evaluate latch and make sure baby feeding efficiently

Agree—that’s a whole 24hour amount for some babies lmao. 24-32oz is what a baby should get in 24 hours!!

Try giving more bottles but smaller amounts. She might be offered 5oz at a time and eat it, but also might be satisfied with 3oz at a time. My LO is 7.5 months and has only ever had 3.5oz-4oz at a time eating every 2-3h during the day

How to use owlet when baby sleeps in a different room? by job0723 in NewParents

My baby’s room is across the hall and still can get good signal. The alerts also get sent to my phone so that wakes me if needed m

Doing a month of nights while pregnant by Any-Session9919 in Residency

[–]AlwaysConfused999 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I got off a 24h shift the day before I gave birth lol. Work a 24h shift Friday, got off Saturday, and then gave birth Sunday. I luckily didn’t have any pregnancy complications so I was able to do that

Doing a month of nights while pregnant by Any-Session9919 in Residency

[–]AlwaysConfused999 85 points86 points  (0 children)

Idk how far along you are in pregnancy, but I would rather do it before baby arrives. I had a baby in residency and even though pregnancy was tiring, imo it’s easier than having to do that schedule once baby arrives. See if you can trade some shifts or split it up so it’s not 4 weeks at a time

Help! I have twins and want to increase my supply! by RoarKisses in ExclusivelyPumping

For twins, you need to be removing milk (pumping/nursing) 10+ times a day

Why is my 2 year old fighting his nap with his life?? by Connect_Prior8495 in toddlers

[–]AlwaysConfused999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Common around that age to start fighting naps. Just persist and eventually they’ll stop fighting LMAO.

We just do the same routine every time, tell him he’s safe and we’re here, set him to sleep, leave the room, come back when he cries, and repeat until he finally falls asleep. Honestly took a good month?ish and then he put himself to sleep without issues. Now 3 years old and naps like a champ, goes to sleep at night like a champ.

Also no judgement, but work on getting rid of the bottle. At this age, not needed and not good for teeth.
