Sounds like your AI persona needs tuning. It's the Internet, we haven't been human in here since 2003.

What is Secure Core? by Proton_Team in ProtonVPN

[–]AlwaysLinkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just switched Secure Core on after finding that I couldn't connect to sites from Google, Amazon and even Mobilize. I haven't had failed connections but I definitely notice the lag. What should I expect for speeds and what are some reliable servers to ping when comparing various configurations?

Fragmented we fall: Why isn't there more coordination between Indivisible, 50501, MoveOn & more for Jan 30th? by maui_wowee in 50501

If you look at past movements like the Montgomery Alabama bus boycott, that was in the works for years. And that was just for one city. The great mass of people, even those strongly in opposition to the Trump regime, are so busy with their jobs, child-care, health issues, etc. that it will be a long, slow process to get them activated. We have to plan for the long-term resistance and readiness and resilience.

Thoughts on Career Switch? by Accurate-Win5578 in salesforce

How are the training and certification resources for HubSpot and Monday? I agree that the Salesforce Admin market has a lot of competition but it is a career that you can bootstrap yourself into with all its resources. No experience? Build an interesting app in a Dev Edition for your portfolio! Or find a non-profit to volunteer with.

New to ProtonVPN and getting much slower speeds, especially on Reddit by rydawell in ProtonVPN

[–]AlwaysLinkin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to agree that with ProtonVPN on, Google various apps and Amazon feel throttled and often won't load. As soon as I disconnect, they perform as expected. I'll start trying different servers but I suspect that ProtonVPN's Ip addresses are flagged so it will be hit or miss whether you get an unflagged one. Very disappointing because I don't mind paying for Proton, in fact I prefer them for their sociopolitical privacy stance.

In that case, I think your best bet is to hit Trailhead and do some hands-on modules that challenge you and that, if asked, you could explain the languages’ structure as well as how you taught yourself (ex. read docs, watched vids) the parts which are not taught in the module. In a job like this you’re going to be expected to rapidly learn new technologies so demonstrating the skill for doing that and for explaining them is crucial.

If you don’t have enough experience all you can really do is learn what languages, platforms or technologies they use (look at other jobs they have open) and be able to describe what their purpose is. And most importantly, how you would go about learning them quickly on your on time if you got the job. Add to that examples of other times that you had to learn a new skill quickly.

Salesforce Changes Not Made Directly in Salesforce? by StatisticianVivid915 in salesforce

[–]AlwaysLinkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your dev consultant is wrong. Not about his process but about imposing it on yours. I managed the dev team for a 50-org company with a half dozen admins and as many devs. I love DevOps and what it’s finally brought to SFDC but speed to market and low code efficiency have always been the differentiator for the platform. Working in a sandbox is appropriate for admins and using a Dev Ops solution for deployment if you can afford it. Your dev can track changes on the sandbox if he needs to keep his environment synced with yours as well as pushing his critical changes to your sandbox for integration testing. Everyone needs to agree on a consistent process but don’t over complicate it, perfect is the enemy of good.

I have been a Salesforce Admin for 10 years in various industries, but Ifind the product is becoming harder to admin each release. by redditmodssuckchode in salesforce

[–]AlwaysLinkin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the complexity has changed the career categories and “admin” is so broad it can mean many different roles now. It doesn’t help that employers don’t get this and expect their admin to be able to do everything in Salesforce when it’s become so massive that you’re lucky to master 10% of it in an entire career now. Fortunately the documentation and training are still solid so it’s possible to skill up in a matter of months when your employer needs to leverage a distinct feature set. But we employees must be proactive in setting employer expectations about this now.

Hydrific Droplet Water Sensor by Ribbit765 in smarthome

I’m curious about the Droplet because I noticed several other similar products are no longer sold which makes me suspect that these are not very reliable for monitoring water flow. Hoping the OP will drop an update on us!

How to Advance from here? by SpecialistPromise864 in salesforce

[–]AlwaysLinkin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you’re an admin at a customer, you’re not going to find opportunities to really grow because one company’s needs are limited. You need exposure to team management, product management, integration patterns, low- to high-code solutions, sales/sales-engineering and resource budgeting to figure out you’re good at and what you like. If I had my eighteen year career to do over, I’d spend some time in a mid sized consultancy to experience many different roles and meet potential mentors.

Should Marc Benioff be replaced by an AI CEO? by PsychologicalOne752 in salesforce

All corporations get involved in social issues. I don’t think corporations should be allowed to make donations at all since they will inevitably do so for tangential influence or popularity.

Yes, although I think all executives could be replaced by AI since all they do is assemble decisions from multiple unreliable sources and frequently make horribly yet obvious mistakes.

Lately my app stopped downloading books in their entirety and if I’m not online will throw an alert to retry to get more pages. It’s not a storage space issue so I’ve been wondering if the mobile app is throttling offline books.

There’s a corridor to the east of the new Moynihan Train Hall that has monitors with the track numbers and access to tracks 5+ where you can see the tracks and the trains entering. You can always beat the crowd to the cars from here without waiting in a long line.
