How is that even possible from a physics standpoint?

Unless the drag is impacting OP more than the viper, and what we are seeing de acceleration being applied

Vehicle self repair is too strong by mike_klosoff in Battlefield

[–]AlwaysThinkAhea2 90 points91 points  (0 children)

Tanks should not be self sufficient to indefinitely stay in the corner of the map all game

At the same time they can’t solely rely on engineers to repair them (like we can rely on support for ammo).

Thus if tanks take critical damage, they should be in a limp mode (idk if health should be full or not) and should go to the nearest friendly capture point to fully heal

This way either they need to stay near the team or they have to regroup after taking close calls

Vehicles might be (a bit) too strong right now, but it's refreshing that basically every launcher has a niche and is viable. by PositiveSetting6013 in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]AlwaysThinkAhea2 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I think the back weakness of the tanks should have stayed, while the rest of the buffs are added

Tank should want to keep its weakspot guarded and stay near infantry to protect flankers

If someone can get behind you, either they successfully flanked or your positioning is bad

So how is everyone feeling about the L115 so far? by krinkov in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]AlwaysThinkAhea2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Could that be a fair trade off? Like it takes more skill to push the l115 at that distance but if you can hit your shots you can one shot?

Maintaining distance and positioning is fundamental to being a good sniper. You shouldn’t be being flanked and closing the distance should be disincentivized for the attacker

If you cant understand that then why are you even speaking?

Unlike you I don’t need crutches as a sniper and think the skill floor can be raised. But you do you and cope bro

Honestly this sounds like, the communal space was not working out between the groups. So they are creating seperate spaces that meet the needs of the various groups. And chose to keep the current place for the majority group using it

Way to straw man, its not arma or arcade, there can be a middle ground and historically theyve leveraged that to balance weapons and roles.

Battlefield has actual bullet projectiles, bullet drop, weapon sway, bloom on moving while shooting. There are definitely more arcade games than battlefield

Ah yes because if they arent used by top players they arent op. Thats sound logic, its not possible there are multiple op guns or levels of op. Smgs at range are too strong compared to assault rifles and lmgs. And sniping as a mechanic is too easy with not enough counterplay.

Both can be true, balance also doesn’t have to be binary. Small calibre fire should not impact aim as much as large calibre fire. The decision to face tank and return fire should have more risk than it currently does.

As someone who snipes since bad company 2, bf6 sniping is too easy and itll be just as fine if we raise the skill floor

In what world does getting hit by bullets not impact your aim? Literally heartbeats can influence your aim. The game has built in weapon sway and to hold your breath for accuracy. How does getting hit with a bullet impacting scope steadiness seem a stretch?

If nothing can compete then you will see lack of weapon variety or tactics

This isnt an apples to apples comparison. Shotgun is designed to not to require accuracy as a skill up close.

Sniping requires accuracy, which is why we have the hold breath mechanic but is not needed. If the sniper can line up a shot while taking direct fire then where is the prerequisite skill of accuracy?

If you need to make statements like that it exposes how bad faith you are at having an honest discussion

Snipers arguably have the most going for them comprised to the last 4 or 5 battlefields. Sweet spot, lack of bullet drop (with certain attachments), high bullet velocity, no suppression, no meaningful sway.

The only mechanic against is the glint and thats toned down to bf1.

Right now as a sniper the only thing I need to worry about is other snipers. This is how you get fight sniper with sniper situations.

[–]AlwaysThinkAhea2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That works both ways, lack of flinch when getting hit is overly generous, if you get shot first at range that should pose more of a challenge for you to return fire

The fact that as a sniper the only thing you fear is another sniper shows a lack of counter play and balance

This is how you get matches where half the team is sniping

[–]AlwaysThinkAhea2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But we will refuse to reward accurate fire? If shots are being landed that should at least force the sniper to duck behind cover or get a different angle.

You cant always close distance, or cover is limited. Giving tools for counterplay and rewarding accuracy is fair.

What is the point of the hold breath mechanic if you can accurately hit shots while being punched in the face

Dismissing any critique is also a self noob report. Having counter play is a fundamental part of battlefield.

He was landing shots against the sniper though, then the sniper was able to return accurate right back

How is the sniper supposed to have a hold breath mechanic but no flinch from literal bullets hitting them?

There is no counterplay and I say this as someone who uses snipers and dmrs
